Man Robs Store At Gunpoint..... Steals a Vita?

Police say a man robbed the Game Stop at 1884 S. Semoran Blvd. Tuesday around 2:15 p.m.

The man walked up to the counter, showed the clerk a handgun and demanded money and a gaming console, police said.

The man reportedly got away with an undisclosed amount of money and a Playstation Vita.

He should have demanded a 3DS lol. Took some balls on the part of the gamestop employees. This is the equivalent of a bank robber holding up a teller at gunpoint and receiving monopoly money after demanding cash. I would be afraid of getting shot for being a smartass.

In conclusion: lolvita.

Vita and SONY is a hot commodity right now. Makes sense.

He was probably trying to return a Vita instead of stealing one. The only way the store would take it back is at gunpoint.

Don't stores keep a list of console/handheld serial numbers? I remember there was a story around the PS3 launch where some kids robbed PS3s and the store tracked the serial number and when the kids logged in online they had the IP address and police went to his house... I also remember them shooting the kid because they claimed his SIXAXIS looked like a gun, but the story was they were able to track the console because of its serial number when it logged in online. Do stores no longer care to take these measures anymore to protect their product?
