They're claiming that emulating the 360s Power PC architecture on the X1s x86 architecture is proving difficult. Hope they come through though.

I don't think it's possible. Emulating a CPU of a different architecture is stupidly costly and I doubt the X1 has a powerful enough CPU to do it.

Good on them.

If they get it working then I hope someone/they bring it to the PC as well, I'd love to play some of my old 360 games again but my console died and I'm sure as hell not going to buy anything ever again from Microsoft (apart from some games on Steam).

Is this going to be a streaming service, or do they want you to be able to buy an Xbox 360 game, pop in the disc and play?

Hopefully they can do it at the hardware level, and not resort to streaming.

I know the PS4 doesn't have the power to emulate the PS3.

That's the rumor. I guess PAX or E3 reveal.

@xhawk27: where do you get that from? Emulation, although the hardware is different, is possible, but is it cost effective. Let's be honest, that's the ONLY thing holding MS and Sony back from this.

I'd love to see them bring BC in, and not streaming. Just do it like last gen. It would be something to hold up as they wont be charging to play last gen games. But lets be real, these companies want revenue

at the very least get the XBLA games to play on the X1
