What JRPGs would you like to see on Xbox One?

Top Xbox boss Phil Spencer has another message for people who want to see Japanese role-playing games on Xbox One: "Keep asking."

That's what he said to a fan recently on Twitter, who asked if there was anything on the JRPG horizon for Xbox One.

"It's a good and fair question. Keep asking until we show you something you like," Spencer replied. "I can't share specific plans now, sorry."

This isn't the first time Spencer has spoken out about the potential for JRPGs on Xbox One.

Back in November 2014, the Xbox executive, in response to fans calling for more games along the lines of Blue Dragon and Lost Odyssey, said: "You will see JRPGs on Xbox One."

Bringing more JRPGs to Xbox One is a popular topic on the Xbox Feedback site, attracting more than 3,500 votes. For his part, Spencer said in previous interviews that Japan is a "soulful" place for games, and one that is "critical" for Microsoft to support.

The Xbox One launched in Japan in September, though system sales aren't very strong there

Lost Odyssey was ok. Tons of room for improvement, but I'd check out a sequel if it came around.

Not really expecting it though.

I would LOVE to see that. One of the best 360 games period.

There's likely no other game revealed at E3 that would be as big a surprise since I think nobody has any hope of it really happening and as I said, I pretty much remain hopeless that it will but hey, I'd say chances are one in a million....

Lost Odyssey was the real Final Fantasy XII. I really enjoyed that game. Blue Dragon on the other hand was a huge letdown for me considering the talent that worked on it.

I'd buy Lost Odyssey 2 for sure.

Hey more JRPGs the better thats why i excited for Star Ocean 5, Disgaea 5, Persona 5, the new YS game.. etc ya know the usual JRPG domination at PlayStation

Lost Odyssey was neat enough for one playthough. That combat was ultimately a bit too simple, and while the dreams are magnificent and disc 1 had a pretty good gut punch, disc 2-4 were hilariously jrpg melodrama territory. Awesome soundtrack though so I'd be cool with a new Mistwalker game, and not necessarily Lost Odyssey 2.

Eh, it was basically the first JRPG of the gen and I think in retrospect after seeing what followed the rest of the gen, Kevin would have scored LO a 9.5 sooo, just sayin. :P

Want jrpgs buy a ps3 ps4 or vita... Hell ps4 has 4 for the fall lineup already and more probably in the works.

Oh its ok for Xbox fans to beg for exclusive jrpgs, but they bash all the playstation jrpgs and multiplat ones and say some really mean shit... but if they get an exclusive jrpgs they suddenly change their tune? Hypocrisy or fanboyism... don't know which (maybe a bit of both).

Highly unlikely because this game followed it even at the end of last gen and not only outscored it but wouldnt be surprised if also outsold LO

Hey Xbox could use a JRPG or two thats for sure

Well its really only Atlus & SE, MS should be reaching out to them and asking them to release Persona 5 and Star Ocean on X1, there's not really anything else

Unless MS partner up with Mistwalker for Lost Odyssey 2 or to bring back that cancelled game Cry On, but I don't care I'll get the JRPG's not on X1 on my PS4 and Wii U has the best JRPG's coming Xenoblade X and Shin Megami Tensei X Fire Emblem

Would love to see a LO2 loved the first one, my favorite jrpg last gen.

I'd still say in retrospect he'd agree he was too hard on LO and what he expected a "Next Gen JRPG" would be then then playing all the JRPG's that came out after LO. so perhaps not a 9.5 but I'd say a AAE for certain.

Why is everyone so excited for Lost Odyssey? I had the game, fully beaten it and completed all the challenges. At most, the game was a 7.5 worthy... Or are we hyped for it because its an exclusive, a thing the Bone doesn't get very often?

They gave up on jrpgs because Xbox money maker is with first person shooters. That and Xbox One sales outside the US are horrendous. Any fans of this genre probably own a PS4.

Even with Microsoft's help both LO and BD were such massive flops it nearly killed Mistwalker, so I don't think there is any possibility that Miswalker are ever going back to medium/large budget development again. And then the fact that Sakaguchi has a beef with Sony for some reason and no matter what game they make for the Xbone or Wii U is not gonna sell, this is something that has been proven time and time again. JRPG's only sell well on Nintendo's handhelds or on PlayStation consoles. Period.

I'd love to see a new JRPG from Cavia. Nier was flawed but really unique. It was like last generations team ico made a game about a surreal future featuring a foul mouthed hermaphrodite.

Unless Sakaguchi and his team have been having talks with Microsoft lately, I seriously doubt this is going to happen.. Mistwalker is doing nothing but churning out mobile junk games. So unless a publisher decides to throw some money at this dev team or Sakaguchi has the great idea of making a kickstarter campaign. :P Then I really doubt we're going to see more quality JRPGs from these people. Although if another Lost Odyssey did get announced. I really hope they have the decency to put it on PC also. Then it will at least have the chance of being a success. Remastering Lost Odyssey 1 for Steam and XBOX One would be a good start. I would probably respect Microsoft more if they did that.

I'm a big fan of LO. So much so, I own a sealed japanese copy, and another opened copy that I house the NA version in because the packaging was shit. The packaging for the NA version of LO was the worst i've ever seen lol wonder if anyone's disc 4 is pristine.

It has a few tropes but it's a classic. Beautiful music and visuals, that said, I don't necessarily want a sequel.

What I want to see from Microsoft - Banjo three, Sequel's to panzer dragoon orta and jet set radio, a new Conker (Wouldn't mind seeing a Conker live and reloaded remaster, but have it uncensored and put more work into the animations. That game could've passed for a 360 game if it were HD) and after that some original games.
