Lol VG Chartz, they're so far off. Wow!

Real sales has PS4 at 4.2 million & the X1 at 3 million.

VG Chartz has them at PS4 4.1 million & the X1 at 2.9 million.

Man VG Chartz sucks. I'm never going to believe that site again & I suggest the same for you guys. LOL!

I was also thinking the same thing, those stats data are not approximately wrong so they are not wrong. For all we know, those official data may have been inflated for both companies to look good, if anything at all, i would believe a third party more than official stats.

mega spider web - these companies need to be honest when reporting sales figures because they are beholden to their shareholders. improper/false reporting could elevate/deflate share prices dishonestly which is illegal. the company has a legal obligation to report sales data honestly.

but i do see your point. it would be nice if a third party could provide data on all three companies. i would trust an independent third party if they were properly resourced. would you, foundrib?

to be fair they probably adjusted their data to meet that of what MS and Sony just announced, I've seen their figures in the past suddenly change to meet announcements rather than that being what they tracked themselves, they usually adjust their figures when these announcements are made, problem with that is that they're supposed to track sales figures, Sony in the past quoted shipping totals rather than tracked retail sales, MS probably does the same thing, but using those announcements to adjust their data for the VGChartz site seems contradictory to the purpose of tracking retailer sales if they're just going to go off of what either company admits to their shipping totals
