I prefer games with no story. E.g., sport games, racing games, and Titanfall.
Naughty Dog are not that good of a developer and suck at gameplay, Tomb Raider 2013 is better than anything they have ever made
Bioshock Infinite > Bioshock 2 > Bioshock 1
The GTA series is mostly rubbish and Rockstar's worst (though I haven't played V)
Sticky cover mechanics are the bane of modern third person (and some first person) shooters.
Rome 2 and CoH 2 are both very good strategy games (after patches anyways).
Oblivion > Skyrim
The notion that Half Life 2 is this excellent all time work of greatness that is beyond reproach is the most ridiculous thing ever in terms of videogame conversations on the internet.
There are plenty of aspects that make that game enjoyable. Hell the variety alone is worthy of my respect as it has more gameplay ideas than most franchises have in their entire run(no seriously, there are more ideas in Half Life 2, than the 6 Halo Campaigns at this point from a gameplay perspective). It's all however tied to average shooting mechanics, dull enemy AI, some genuinely bad pacing in terms of the pre-ravenholm stuff, and I wasn't the biggest of controlling the boat or the little car. You throw in the stuff where it's overly reliant on trying to wow you with a seasaw puzzle, and that the plot/universe is like mostly lame and ends in a cliff hanger, yeah **** that game.
Remember Me = good
MGS2 = bad
that's in fact a popular opinion...
No, it isn't.
It's funny how people go into these threads and then post popular opinions in them. lol.
Anyway:
1. A Link To The Past is massively overrated: the dungeon design is just way too basic. I think I even prefer the DS Zeldas.
2. There was nothing wrong with Carolyn Petit calling out the misogyny in GTA V. The backlash was a result of gamer manbabyism as usual.
3. Anita Sarkeesian made a lot of good points. The people that were annoyed by what she was saying didn't understand her argument.
4. Uncharted's characters are incredibly trite. That they are put on a pedestal shows just low gamers' standards are in that department. If UC's characters were in a movie or book, nobody would give them a second thought.
5. Insomniac have always been unimaginative developers.
6. The PS3's graphics didn't/don't look better than the 360's (the PS4 .vs. the Xbox One is of course a different story).
7. There's nothing wrong with Resident Evil 5. It wasn't close to as awesome as Resident Evil 4, but that applies to the vast majority of TPSs out there.
8. Halo 2 was way better than the first.
9. God of War is sooooo boring. Couldn't even finish it and I'm patient enough to make my way through the most dated retro RPGs.
10. Metroid Prime 3 may not be as good as the first, but it comes a lot closer than people give it credit for.
11. Morrowind sucks. Love its atmosphere but the gameplay is so janky.
12. GameSpot was largely correct about The Legend of Dragoon. I have no idea why so many gamers have decided to put this game on a pedestal. It is trite on every level, the combat system is novel but shallow, the dialogue is horrendous, etc. I've even heard some people say that the LoD is better than some of the PS1 FF games which is absolutely insane.
13. There is absolutely nothing wrong with a company charging you to play on their online infrastructure. The entitlement that gamers have is nauseating.
14. Final Fantasy XIII has some severe issues, but I don't really think there's anything wrong with its characters. They're not great, but they're not as terrible as many people say they are. Snow is a huge douche tho.
15. Navi is not annoying.
The MGS games are just stupid non-sense.
Gears Of War and Halo are mediocre and highly overrated more so than Call Of Duty.
The Last Of Us is not the best story told in gaming.
The Souls series are unenjoyable.
Half Life series are overrated.
Paying for online gaming is unacceptable.
a lot of people agree on this especially those who've spend hundreds of hours playing the original. i was insanely disappointed with the sequel and completely lost faith in gears series after the third came out. one of my best online experiences on the 7th gen were in 06-07 in gears. Good memories
Put a lot of hours to that game.
It's funny how people go into these threads and then post popular opinions in them. lol.

I agree wholeheartedly with the bolded, but I'll go ahead and add to it.
- Half-Life 2 is nothing more than mediocre and the idea that the game is somehow above criticism is ridiculous.
- Uncharted is a forgettable series buoyed by incredible production values.
- Mass Effect's storyline is absurd.
- Halo 2 is the best multiplayer shooter ever made.
- Dynasty Warriors and Armored Core are very good series.
- Bethesda games are universally boring and poorly designed.
- Graphics don't matter.
- The PlayStation 3 was, by and large, an absolute mess of a console.
- Metal Gear Solid 4 is an atrocious Metal Gear game and the worst title in the franchise.
- Final Fantasy VIII is pretty bad.
- Nintendo's first party is the best in the business.
- Sony's first party is pretty unimpressive, a couple studios aside.
The ps4 has very little going for it.
This is only an unpopular opinion in SW
yeah i share clyde's opinion.

Actually I'm probably one of the few people that actually lists TLOU as their fav gen 7 game.
* JRPGs aren't role playing games at all
* Gran Turismo fell behind Forza Motorsport
* Pokemon is just as rehashed as any EA sports title
One of these threads again, huh?
-I think several anime/manga fighters are very good (except Bleach: Shattered Blade, that game can go to hell)
-I like 3D MK games on the PS2
-I refuse to play CORE developed TR games and am sticking to Crystal Dynamics developed ones after playing Legend and Anniversary, as I know those games have not aged well enough for me to even bother (tank controls do not work with action-adventure-platfomers)
-Super Mario Galaxy 2 was not worth a 10. More like in the 8 range.
That's a few of them for now.

There's a difference between an opinion and a factual inaccuracy.
Red Dead Redemption is an average-at-best game due to its bland protagonist, disjointed overworld, predictable story and weak morality system. Also the gameplay is largely fetch quest missions that have little to do with the narrative and are essentially what MMORPG's do except without the other players or the loot/exp.
Half Life 2 is a masterpiece. I'm actually playing through right now. Gunplay, pacing, and storytelling are unmatched in FPS's since then.
I agree wholeheartedly with the bolded, but I'll go ahead and add to it.
- Uncharted is a forgettable series buoyed by incredible production values.
You agreed with him that Uncharted's characters were trite and it's sort of forgettable as a series but you liked TR 2013?...... Does not compute
Every time somebody mentions Halo: Reach, I keep thinking Halo:Reach Around...
The Last Remnant (PC) is better than any of the Final Fantasy game's I've played (FF7->)
I liked the tower defense game in Assassin's Creed: Revelations
I liked the dialogue in Two Worlds
The car handling in GTA:IV was the best in the series
Motorstorm: Monument Valley was the best in the series
I didn't care that car models were reused form Gran Turismo 2 in Gran Turismo 5 & 6
I do not like any of the Hitman games
Manhunt was the best stealth game I've ever played
The original UFO: Enemy Unknown game from 1993 is better than the remake
Gex: Enter the Gecko is the best platform game I've ever played, even better than games like Spyro
I did not like Crash Bandicoot
New World Order (PC) is one of the best FPS games I've ever played.
There are probably more...

Just LOL, but i'm not going to waste time with a long ass reply. Whoever support the dumb arguments of Anita Sarkeesian deserves to be slapped.
Demon Souls>>>>Skyrim
Dark Souls 2>>>>Dark Souls
DMC is the best Devil May Cry
Metal Gear Rising Sucks
Bayonetta is even worse than Charlies Angels
Super Mario Galaxy,Uncharted 2,TLOU,Red Dead Redemption are the best games of Gen 7
FFXII is a great game
Enjoyed every second of GTA V
Bioshock Infinite is crap, Bioshock 1 is the best
PS3 has the best library in gen 7
the X1 sucks and everybody knows it, except Lems of course
Carolyn Petit's review of GTA V was totally fine. Anita Sarkeesian is not some kind of demon. Her commentaries are pretty much spot on. And lots of angry internet trolls are just livid that her valid points are in conflict with their expectations of how women should be portrayed in games.
Bethesda games suck
SOTC is arguably the most overrated game of all time with a plethora of issues that people ignore.
Ico > SOTC
Tekken sucks
Kingdom Hearts sucks
Super Mario 64 sucks
The GT vs Forza debate is a topic I didn't give a damn about as I find both to be boring
Naughty Dog are nowhere near the best devs in the industry because UC1 and UC3 exist.
JRPGs > WRPGs
Persona 3, P4, SMT IV, SMT Devil Survivor >>>>>>>>>>>> Nocturne
Fire Emblem Awakening and POR >>>>>>>>>>>> Fire Emblem GBA.
Based on my experience, Odin Sphere was the only video game I played with a decent story
MGS3: Subsistence and ZOE2 are the only amazing games Kojima has made. MGS4 is outdated.
Ape Escape was the best platformer of its era
I didn't care for TF2 and L4D1 and 2
Age of Empires II > Starcraft
RE4 is the only amazing RE game.
FFX has the most overrated soundtrack in video games
FFXII >>>>>>>>> FFX
FFIV is overrated
Half-Life 2's vehicle sections > Halo CE the Library >>>>>>>>>>> Uncharted Jet ski levels
Fi in Skyward Sword didn't annoy me
I don't care for most indie games
That's about it.

Should be portrayed, **** off. The game is about stealing cars and murdering people and killing police officers... all of that is completely fine but offending women is not... get a life it's a game.

no one is saying she is a demon, LOL, she is just wrong and a garbage feminist.

1. Holy shit, when did you become a mod?
2. Tomb Raider has exploration going for it, plus the encounters are more free form and interesting. I'm not super attached to the game's story or characters, but it did have a cool mystery vibe going for it.
I would much rather play that game than an Uncharted game.
yes.
now i'll just hop on my alt and agree with myself.
2. There was nothing wrong with Carolyn Petit calling out the misogyny in GTA V. The backlash was a result of gamer manbabyism as usual.

After that thoughtful response, I have changed my stance.
@GreySeal9 Agreed on UC characters. Chloe's ass was the only interesting character in the franchise.
lol
I agree. Chloe's ass had some real depth and complexity to it.
I enjoyed Tomb Raider 2013 more than any of the uncharted games
Opposite for me. I did not care for the new TR. I liked the death scenes, that's about it really. Uncharted 2 was my favorite of any similar game. The environments, each of them alone were simply just captivating and so beautiful. I didn't see anything too interesting to look at in TR. It's another island, trees, rocks...wow.
I agree wholeheartedly with the bolded, but I'll go ahead and add to it.

you feminists are so damn annoying and even if i wasted my time with a good argument you wouldn't change it anyway, so for now, just LOL feminists.
Call of Duty isn't as bad as people make it out to be. Most games today, like COD, are sequels. They may not be yearly, but if you isolated it to one developer (Infinity Ward, Treyarch, and the other third dev I can't remember), that's 1 COD game every 2 years per dev, having a different feel for each one.
