GO!
I would pick Genesis purely for nostalgia.
But this is not a nostalgia thread, so I say SNES. Super Mario World, Mario Kart, Star Fox, DONKEY KONG COUNTRY.

I'm starting a war between two systems though.
Yeah, this is technically only relevant to this board.I remember getting a Turbo Grafx 16. I liked it, but then I went back the next day to Toys R Us to return it and get a SNES instead. Good times.
SNES, barely. And i really mean just barely. I think the battle between these 2 consoles was the most competitive in the history of gaming, you could choose either console and not go wrong. PS3 vs 360 comes pretty close but is still not near due to the amount of multi plats this gen.

just no. if we're doing a system wars standard and bringing in horsepower, snes won hands down. sega had the "blast processing" which allowed quick movement in.... well.... just sonic. but the snes had a larger color palette, more on screen colors, larger sprites, mode 7 scaling, faster cpu, more sound channels and higher sound quality.
if you're talking about the games i think thats somewhat opinionated and preferential. i will say im pretty sure the snes put the genesis down in worldwide hardware and software sales. i want to say some parts of asia were genesis dominant such as korea and china.
that being said genesis did have awesome games like shining force and the phantasy star series.
Hell yes! Genesis all the way. Playing co-op Golden Axe and Streets of Rage with the other kids in the neighborhood is something I will never forget. Locking on the Sonic 3 cartridge to Sonic & Knuckles might have been the coolest thing I have ever or will ever do. Best Christmas ever.Anyone else love Vectorman?

SNES was when I played the most JRPGs. My favorite wasn't Chronotrigger like many. My fave was the Secret of Mana. Other games I loved:
I know some of those were multiplat, but for some reason, I gravitated toward the SNES. I also had a genesis, SegaCD with the 32x add-on, but still have fonder memories of the SNES.
