Microsoft need to do several things going in to next gen. They need to take away the Live fee and adopt a Plus like system. Then they need to recapture what made the 360 so great in the early days of the generation. As of right now Sony is the one with the momentum. They have the superior first party games coming out. They have the best value for money service and they have the best good will with core games. Microsoft took advantage of Sony's major screw ups early on. Sony isn't going to make those mistakes again and if Microsoft don't recapture what made the 360 great in 2007 Sony will take the lead in the next generation and not let it go.

With next-gen consoles right around the corner, Microsoft is going to have to do some major changes if they want to stay on top next-gen.

Xbox 360's exclusives this gen were, well, terrible. The only one I could actually enjoy was Halo, the rest of the games on there were multiplats. Sony could easily gain the edge in multi-plats with the PS4, and since they already have a large supply of exclusives.....

The pay-to-play online service is a severe ripoff. Sure, I pay for it, because I have the money. But lots of people don't have the cash/aren't willing to pay $60 to pay online. Once again, Sony already has the edge with free online. If they just fix the mistakes they made with the PS3, then I will have no problem switching to PSN.

I've already gone to PC because of a lack of exclusives on Xbox, but I could also switch to PS4 next-gen instead of Xbox. If Microsoft doesn't change their many flaws, I could see Xbox getting 2nd or even a distant 3rd place next-gen.

What about you, SW? Do you think Xbox is dying? Does Sony have the edge?

For me, the xbox brand is dead. I was a huge original xbox fan in the face of PS2 and huge 360 supporter in its first couple of years. Funny how much things have changed to give me such a negitive feeling toward Xbox and MS now. I have already moved on to PS3, Nintendo and PC...i dont have any love left for xbox.

Xbox will live on, just as a very far second place to PSnext. The only one that will die is the Wii U.

Technically, The 360 has more high rated (70+, 80+, 90+, whatever) games on Metacritic.

I know, all i've needed this gen is my PC and my PS3. The PC always wins because of the sheer amount of high rated exclusives and games overall, but some extremely charming games are only on PS3 or more comfortable to play on the PS3, DMC for example i prefer to play it on with the Dualshock3.

So the 360 has more single A, double AA and triple AAA games, I've heard that before i call it the fallacy of the faceless games a large list of multiplats not on PS3 but with no substance whatsoever, thats why they´re brought up as an statistic and thats mainly the reason why the vast majority of the world sides with the PS3 either way.

You know Nintendo got cocky after winning 2 gens in a row and same thing happened to Sony. But Microsoft got cocky before they even won a single gen. 

They screwed up all that momentum they had with the 360 and didn't finish strong.

99% of games are the same on both systems.LOL And there is plenty of gameplay in Sony exclusives.

Nothing new, 360 been dying since release.... started with RROD and fast forward and here we are left with kinect :lol:
