Out of anything recent I would say Wolfenstien and Call of Duty Advanced Warfare. Advanced Warfare had a surprisingly great campaign.

Honestly can't think of one. The New Order was good but nothing truly exceptional. Genre's been seriously lacking in greatness if you ask me.

Best FPS of the last five years for me has been Destiny. Sadly with Activision/Bungie being so greedy with their DLC pricing, my fun time with it is coming to an end.

Halo 4 for pure enjoyment. Destiny has been good when playing cooperatively but it's got too many issues for me to name that.

I did start Wolfenstein last week and need to return to it. Of what I played it was fantastic.

I played S.T.A.L.K.E.R: Shadow of Chernobyl recently, and it was the second best first person shooter I've ever played. Only second to the first Bioshock.

If you haven't already, play Call of Pripyat, it's a much more atmospheric STALKER imo. Very, very spooky, and is pretty much a more well rounded game. Not exactly polished, but certainly more polished.

Titanfall and wolfenstien:TNO if we are talking current gen only. Those are the only 2 good FPS on current gen IMO. Which is funny because everyone complains about too many FPS games

I played, at least, 2 hours of Call of Pripyat. But I'm playing on a Sony VAIO running on a Intel HD 4000 graphics card. And, I'm not willing to sacrifice my visual experience playing through CoP the first time because of a shitty laptop. It's definitely on my must play list once I build my rig.

Oh yeah, definitely a good idea to play that with good visuals. I found Shadow of Chernobyl disappointing because I played CoP first. The visuals were considerably worse and I could not see why this game could be considered any better than CoP.

It's probably a thing of perspective. I decided on playing them by release order, and I thought that Shadow of Chernobyl was brilliant, aside from that absolutely terrible ending of course. I am yet to judge which one is better though, as I am yet to play through CoP. Strangely enough, I can run Metro 2033 better than I can run CoP, probably because of engine optimization.

I'm assuming you mean the redux version of metro because the original was an absolute turd in optimization. Yeah, the STALKER series in general is a technical mess, CoP is a bit better, but the optimization is bad and there are a lot of unnecessary features, like the tessellation albeit doable on current hardware at the time it was absolutely not worth enabling.

I'm actually referring to the original Metro 2033, for some reason, it runs like a charm on my shitty laptop. I haven't bothered with the redux yet, as I'll probably pick it up on Playstation 4, or when I build my rig, on sale.

Not a big fan of the genre. I played Resistance 1, Modern Warfare, RB6 Vegas, and Borderlands last gen...the first 3 because there were hardly any decent games available the first year of PS3's life and Borderlands because a friend gave me his copy.

Planetside 2.

Due to the lack of direct competition (even Battlefield games feel small in comparison), and considering i'm not a fan of CoD and its clones, i can see myself playing it for the entire generation. It's really good and unique!

Wolfenstein and Shadow Warrior were good bits of fun but hardly blew me away. I just got into Titanfall a little while back and that did wow me quite a bit. The game can be awesome, or incredibly frustrating, like when people drop out of your team after matches start, and the team always down a player loses 90+% of the time.

Can't believe I'm saying it, Destiny, the game is just so addictive. I had just come off the high of playing Halo MCC with a warm feeling for Bungie's legacy, and saw the Digital Guardian Edition on sale for $45 on the Xbox Store, so I splurged. And boy, I don't regret it one bit. I mean, sure they did kind of drop the ball in some respects but it's still so damn effing fun I can't put it down, start playing late at night then before I know it light is pouring in from outside.

Been so long ago that i don't remember. Infinite was the last 'awesome' fps probably
