KZ Shadow Fall GOTY?

Can someone tell me anything bad about it other than they messed up on the rain drops? I can tell you a lot of bad things about KZ3, but not KZ SF.

Killzone 2 won 'Best PS3 Shooter' from IGN. It won 'Best Competitive Multiplayer', 'Best Sound Design', 'Most Improved Sequel', and 'Best Shooter' from GameSpot editor's choice. It won 'Best Graphics' in the G-Phoria 2009 Awards. It also took in Game of the Year from Gamereactor.

I hold HIGH doubts of it being GOTY. After my disappointment with Bioshock Infinite, Shadow Fall will probably be my personal shooter of the year. Actually, it may be Gamespot's choice if it happens to score 9 (above BF4 and Ghosts).

Game of the year will go to Ni No Kuni or Gone Home :P :).

Looks like another uninspired shooter. Aside from the visuals (Crysis 3/Arma 3/Battlefield 3 look better) I haven't really seen anyone praise any other aspect.

Might be a good idea to raise your expectations of next generation.

And that's close to GOTY?. A few awards?, yeah no.

Don't be so cynical lol. It definitely could, and would be interesting. Over the years it seems that Gamespot has made the shift to become a pseudo-hipster review site. I'm not saying they deliberately strive to make out of the norm choices, but I bet they want to appear unique amongst the major publications. Of course they won't pick a game that isn't in the ballpark of deserving GOTY. Gone Home is a cool, fresh game.

I hope Ni No Kuni gets it :). Just magical and fun. It reinforces my admiration for Japanese game development when done successfully.

Arma 3 should probably win it for yet again saving the tactical shooter genre, which console gaming all but killed off with unsophisticated Call of Duty/Gears Of War gameplay . A very important game. Far more so than Killzone, which is basically Halo with Nazi's.

The Last of Us probably won't win GOTY by Gamespot staff.

Definitely the user choice though. It's an insanely good game and many of Naughty Dog's supporters hang around Gamespot. I think it's a shoe in for that.

I'm sorry but he has a point. If Killzone Shadow Fall was somehow/someway a serious contender for any GOTY title then Crysis 3 would have to be right up there with it, and theres no way Crysis 3 deserves to be a GOTY contender. Obviously Killzone SF hasn't been released yet but I'm more then willing to put the smart money on it being just another looks like Tarzan plays like Jane type game.

I can't see any realistic scenario where suddenly a Killzone title ends up with a great story which would be what it would need to even get remotely close to a GOTY discussion. Which given it's history of awful, cliche, and cringe worthy stories is a safe bet. On top of that it would need a multi-player thats at least comparable to Halo, COD, or Battlefield. Something it's never really developed. Granted MP in Killzone titles isn't to bad but to be a GOTY contender you can't just be average at best in everything but graphics.

Not to mention this is easily one of the strongest years for gaming in recent memory. The idea that any Killzone title could beat GTA V, Last of Us, Bioshock Infinite, Tomb Raider, and AC4 amongst others is unthinkable

Show me one previewer that says its an amazing game that draws you in with story, atmosphere, gameplay, excitement, and a really fun multiplayer. If that happens I think you can hype KZ. Until then from what Ive seen its the same ole same ole. Great graphics, ass sucking story, kinda boring. We'll know soon though. Reviews gotta break this week I think.

This game won't be goty of the year. The max score it will receive on GS is an 8 most likely and maybe higher if it is lucky.

I don't think it will get GOTY but I think it will be the best launch exclusive by far on the new consoles.

You need a season pass to get the "FREE" maps and co-op mode, and the is no co-op campaign offline or online which is odd because the KZ4 package comes with 2 controllers........ so there is 2.

Lol no. KIllzone sucks. It won't beat Battlefield or COD, never mind actual GOTY contenders like GTAV, Bioshock Infinite and Last of Us.

Lol. Blame console gamers for a PC exclusive genre dying. Guess what? The vast majority of people just don't like those games. That includes the vast majority of PC gamers.

I think the main obstacle for Killzone has always been its story. The lore is there and is indeed very interesting, but the presentation of it has been bad, especially in kz3. IF they can nail it down along with the great shooting mechanics, then we will have something really special.

As much as I'm going to enjoy KZ:SF, it's not GOTY material. Even if it were, it won't top TLOU, Bioshock Infinite, or GTA V.
