Kirby and the Rainbow Curse Hype Thread. GS: 5/10. Really?

My first time making a hype thread...Cut me some slack,

Why is there a hype thread? Because this game is being overlooked. It looks great and it deserves some hype.

Kirby And The Rainbow Curse Hype Thread.

The Super Tuff Pink Puff is back for the very first time in HD. In his very first Wii U adventure, Kirby must save Dreamland once again. This time from the evil Claycia. Kirby and the Rainbow Curse's predecessor, Kirby Canvas Curse, was released back in 2005. 10 years ago. (2005)

Kirby and the Rainbow Curse, know as Kirby: Super Rainbow in Japan, carries on the style of gameplay from Canvas Curse, presenting the game with a unique modelling clay look. Players use the Wii U GamePad to help Kirby, who is stuck in a ball form, move across the level by drawing rainbow colored lines on the touchscreen to guide him. Making Kirby go through loops will speed him up, while touching him will put him into a spinning attack to use against enemies. Collecting stars in each level grants him the Star Dash power-up, increasing Kirby's size and allowing him to charge through normally-indestructible blocks.

Just like in Yoshi's New Island, Kirby can gain various forms throughout the game, such as a submarine, a rocket, and a tank. These forms help him progress through the game and provide certain elements that alters the gameplay. The game will feature four-player co-op, where one player draws a path for Kirby while three others play as Waddle Dees, who can assist Kirby by carrying him around and attacking enemies.

The main story mode in Kirby and the Rainbow Curse has twenty-eight levels, while challenge mode has over forty.

The game supports three amiibo figures. The Kirby amiibo allows Kirby to activate the "Star Dash" ability at any time, the King Dedede figure gives Kirby extra hitpoints, and the Meta Knight figure gives him greater attack power during his touch-activated spinning attack.

It'll get AA.

Not a huge fan of Kirby, but that clay effect looks pretty amazing.

This looks so unbelievably bad I don't even know what to hype it. And this is coming from someone with a Kirby Amiibo on his monitor stand...

Great hype thread, nice work. I will hype this Kirby game a 7. I'll get it when I have some money because I love Kirby.

I'm going to get it because I want to support most/all WiiU Nintendo exclusives, but I think it gets a 7 here. Just doesn't look all that great. Canvas Curse was ok, but I didn't really care for it that much.

I like traditional Kirby...but I don't like what I've seen of this game and I didn't like Canvas either.

I guess A 7.0. I could see a 7 = A score. That said, the game looks really boring to me.

$70?! Jeez. How can they even charge that much for ANY video game? That could be food for 2 weeks.

Games here are usually 64.99$ + taxes = 74.72$

Checked out on amazon and it's 44.99$,not too bad

Canvas Curse was a fucking incredible game and one of my favourites on DS, I am hype for this. Can't stand Kirby but a sequel to Canvas Curse is just too exciting to resist - day one.

Game looks cute as ****...but i would rather have a traditional Kirby game, gonna bet safe on this one, i think it will be an AE.

It's a budget priced game, it costs $40 in the US, same as Captain Toad, dunno what that would be in Canada.

As for hype, eh, I'll go with 8. Looks super cute though.

I'm still amazed how much charm drips from Nintendo games these days. They are really going all out with art styles.

Kirby - best music from Nintendo, but easiest gameplay. I don't like that stylus gameplay though... That's shartarific.

Cool graphics. But the gameplay just doesn't seem fun to me.

You draw lines and have to make sure the ink doesn't run out ? Uh... sounds really boring. But I do appreciate how, unlike most games coming out, it's not about being ultra violent.

Yeah, that's a good price. You can go too too wrong with $40...I just wished ALL new games costed that much. Things would be much better.

I'm sorry, but $70+ is too much money to pay just to play a video game, IMO. Especially for all the meh-ish games we've been getting for the past few years. Thank god for Gamefly.

(Zelda U would be worth it though. =P)

Yes. It has 4 player co-op that uses the Wii Remotes. However, I think that the paint controls are for the Gamepad only.

I read Kirby is like that too. You press a button and he practically jumps for you.

Lol, I'm actually not a fan of Kirby, man. The only ones I really like are Air Ride, Canvas Curse, the SNES one, and the 3DS one.

That said, Rainbow Curse looks far more interactive than The Order does.

Well, it all shows on the tv, but you have to use the stylus on the gamepad to control the paint.

There's nothing wrong with that. I'd rather be an extreme casual than a mouth breathing neckbearded "hardcore gamer".

Why is this game still being listed at $59.99 in some places when it's supposed to be $39.99?
