Too many KH games, how do i start the franchise from the first game??

Actually Kingdom Hearts ultimate collection is also releasing exclusively on PS4 March 28th/2017, this collection will include EVERY single Kingdom Hearts game ever released including the entire story from the first game till current before KH3. my advise is to buy the collection in March before KH 2.8

The ultimate collection includes BOTH KH 1.5 and KH 2.5 a total of 6 KH games in a single package

Kingdom Hearts 2.8 will include Birth by Sleep 2 a game that will use the same engine with KH3 so you actually get to experience an entirely new KH current gen game before KH3 releases

Is the ultimate collections or KH 2.8 releasing on Xbox One?

Ya did me a solid TC. I was wondering where to start, but that 1.5 is great for me, as i've not played a single KH game.

I won't even attempt a guess at a score, because i've no idea how to rank them... Obviously.

The good thing is with the collection in March it will include both 1.5 and 2.5 in a single disk so you literally get 6 games in a single disk then you'll finish them off with the final chapter KH 2.8 which will include a movie and 2 games that finally lead to a complete understanding of the franchise right before KH3.

im actually going to do that too i'll buy KH 2.8 this month but i wont touch it till i buy the ultimate collection in March, play all 6 games then finish it off with KH 2.8.

@finalstar2007: Geez Louise. That's a whole lot of catching up. I never understood the appeal, but I really want to give the series a shot.

Its a huge franchise but the good thing is that Square Enix has finally actually organized each game with these collections so its hella easy now to figure out which game to start with and which game to start next though the journey of playing these games is a blast.

I think it shows how convoluted the story has got when you have to release 6 games and 2 movies to catch up with the plot lol. I'm not going to lie, I hate that this isn't coming to Xbox One, as I'd love to play KH1 and 2 again. Idk about the spin offs, never played them. KH3 is coming to Xbox One, why not the collection?

I absolutely love Kingdom Hearts, but my issue was when I played the first one back on the Playstation 2, I remember making it all the way to Hollow Bastion and my memory card just died out on me and I lost all my saved files. Never did get a chance to play it through again, and with Kingdom Hearts 2, I only played the beginning which was that long 2-3 hour tutorial...lol. I would love to play the rest of the games of this franchise, but I would have to miss out on other games just to focus on this...lol. What was the chronological order to play this game again leading to Kingdom Hearts III? Cause I was going to just watch all the videos of the story off YouTube and then start Kingdom Hearts III when it's released...

Is the 1.5+2.5 collection just the PS3 collection ? Or is it running at 1080p or something ?

Why is it called 2.8? Is there a good reason for it or is it just pretentiousness?

Genuine question.

The first collection collection released is called 1.5 which includes the first portion of the franchise so the first game plus events that happen leading to KH2

The second collection is called 2.5 which includes the second portion of the story of the second game plus the events that happen leading to KH3

2.8 is sort of a mix of a slight continuation from KH2 AND the events of before KH1 a story of how the main character of the game (Sora) became the chosen one.

This collection was made for the PS4, i believe it was made specifically to be played on the PS4 so it will look better on the PS4 than it looked on PS3 but KH games in general always look good no matter what platform they release on. the production value of these games is pretty impressive i mean the PSP game was hella impressive visually

might get that ult collection whenever i get a ps4pro, but i never did finish 1.5 on the ps3...

I regret finishing it on PS3, i only played 1.5 but coming march i'll have to play it again and keep going till 2.8... honestly forgot everything about 1.5 lol

2.8 is a scam. The ultimate collection might be worth it, but not this.

2.8 includes TWO new games.. a sequel to birth by sleep that uses the same engine as KH3 and a new game never released on consoles or handhelds and dream drops thats the first time it releases on a console how is all that a scam?

What? It includes a 2 hour dlc style game with Aqua. And a movie. And a game that is already out on the 3DS and will be out on the Ultimate KH collection.

Oh and its 60 bucks.

Edit: I dont 100% know if DDD will be on the ultimate collection, but i assume it will. Wouldnt be very ultimate otherwise.
