In all seriousness, those numbers are appalling, my guess is that changing gaming trends in Japan and the economy there are pretty much throttling the console scene. I stand by my assumption that its not worth MS even launching there.

Same happen with the PS3 first year,the PS2 outsold it a couple of times,and they were neck and neck for many months,but japanese sales are low all around those are some pretty low numbers all around.

Consoles dead in Japan confirmed.

ps4 has no games that isnt already on the ps3 that japanese gamers would like. they know it too and its why they delayed it. it only takes one hatsume miku game or one jrpg and ps4s will sell like hotcakes for 2 weeks

PS3 and Vita beating Wii U... also the recent PS4.
Not sure what japanese games are out for PS4, when they do, am sure they will be rocking numbers there like Yakuza.

Just release a rapelay sequel on PS4, I'm sure that would boost the numbers.

If you're uneducated in the Japan market, yes.

Everyone knows Japan gamers don't buy American game consoles. It's surprising that the XBox 360 outsold the original XBox in Japan by 3:1. Still, no one expects the XB1 or any U.S. console (Ouya, SteamBox, etc..) to sell millions and million of units in Japan.

Ps4 HAHAHAHA, in its home country. Glad to see Vita make a bit of a comeback, I don't own one but I can appreciate how it is a good system, ps3 in a handheld and all.
