Itagaki - Devils Third is more than just a shooter.

As we have heard very little on Devils Third and saw this i thought i'd share it with SWs.

We always seek to innovate in games, and so it means they will not be the same. We're currently working on a game called "Devil's Third." It is different than previous games up until now, as it is not just about fighting, but about diplomacy and forming treaties in the midst of a war in a realistic world setting. All of this is mashed up into one game. It is a world where peace is sought. My colleagues and I worked to put all this within a "war game." Eventually it became a household game for the Wii U, but we are currently developing games for mobile too

So.... What you Guys, Girls, Cross-Dressers think?

I'm hyped for it just because of Itagaki's involvement

I refuse to get hyped for games I have not seen (much of).

Maybe this E3 he can show me something substantive and I can actually bring myself to care about this title. Until then, all that is happening is me giving the title the benefit of the doubt based on Itagaki's heritage.

It might be one of those so bad it's good type of games.

I know the graphics are straight out of the ps2 era. I want to be hyped for it, but I've seen nothing about it except some screens which look very generic. I'd rather him make a spiritual successor to Ninja Gaiden because that series fell off badly after his departure.

What I saw from the multiplayer footage looked like a lot of fun. I don't know about the single player mode, though. I'd love to see how the game is shaping up at E3. It has potential.

Anyway, need to see a lot more of this game.

well, I WAS once hyped for this because it was an Itagaki game, but since seeing the latest Wii U footage the gameplay just looked so god damn meh I don't even want to think about it, it was fucking garbage

Hmmmm..... from what I've seen, hand to hand combat and swordfighting are more like simple melee attacks with no depth. Should have been a shooting/swordfighting mix kinda like Red Steel 2. Also character movement is desapointing. A lot worse than Ninja Gaiden's Ryu. And that one level looked atrocious visually. Multiplayer looked at least decent.

I'm eager to see what they've done since last E3.

I don't believe in any footage of this game I've seen since it looks shitty, but I believe in Itagaki. In my mind him pairing up with Nintendo means that he got to polish up this game out of its development limbo bs. In execution? who knows, they might not have given a single ****. But usually Nintendo takes care of their studios, including the devs they partner with.

I have seen no indication of pointer controls as an optional way to play so immediately it will not get above an 8 from me however, seeing people run around with watermelons on their backs can't be too bad so I'm hyped a little. Once I see pointer controls as an option, then I'll get hyped

I'll have to see more, but I personally liked the old version. If he could have made it a launch game I wouldn't be surprised if it would have been a surprise hit.

Ninja Gaiden Black looks better than this and it was on OG Xbox.

These pics are mad old. I wonder what the game looks like right now.

If the game plays as well as NGB, I wouldn't give a **** if it looked like a PS1 game.

I want Sega to hand him the reigns on Shinobi so he can bury Hayashi and his false Ninja Gaiden.

As long as it has some Ninja Gaiden style melee combat to go along with the shooting, then it's all good.

He's probably right but I wouldn't listen to Cookie Face too much.... he might hype it too hard.

I'm not touching this game unless they completely redesign the main character. He just looks gross.

I have faith in Itagaki. He always achieves what he sets out to do, the only exception being Ninja Gaiden 2, which is still great.
