Is Sony teasing a new Crash game?

From the PS4 Launch Trailer (0.48 mark), we got this hint:

Are Sony about to buy the rights of Crash Bandicoot (or at least get an exclusive, good old fashioned style Crash Bandicoot game) for the PS4? Is that what they might be about to announce tonight?

No Charizard no, Activision has the trademark with no third-party permissions on it, and their investor report has them focusing on Skylanders and Ghosts until January with the only exception being some Transformers thing, most likely a game.

The way those signs are arranged, it seems too blatant to be anything else. Teasing and not delivering will do nothing but piss people off.

And looking at Activisions Licenese, they have not gave the franchise to be used or published, co-developed, or co-"handed" by another company and if they made that announcement then, they would have had to have already done that by today, which they have not.

The most they can do is upscale the old crash games.

The rumor is that Sony could have bought the IP discreetly. Not like Activision is doing anything with it. Especially with that Skylanders and Ghosts focus as you pointed out.

That's a lie.

You don't seem to know how licensing and exchanging works, it's required by law for that motion to be filed with other snags in between for you, what you said would make sense because to view reports you have to pay $50-$1000 to view it, but if you did you would see that it's not possible. The most they could do is upress their distribution rights for the Playstation games. Or announce a partnership before it's official but then the game won't come out until 2015. So I doubt they would go to that trouble.

I've been disappointed enough times with Crash rumours to know this is nothing.

No. Crash Bandicoot is dead. Probably the one chance to see somewhat of a revival of Crash (Mark Cerny's "Knack") died once we saw gameplay of that game.

Activision flatout sucks. First they screw over Sony by not allowing Crash in PlayStation All Stars and now still won't even consider making a new game in the series. *sigh*
