Yes, Kojima said it was the final one. However they will still make Metal Gear games, like Metal Gear Rising 2.

It's just Kojimas final one because he considers the series timeline closed, but more importantly, because he's out the door lol. No word on Rising 2 either.

Konami will definitely make more MGS though. They already starting filling positions for it.

O, my understanding was no more Metal Gear Solid games, thats what they had said, but their would be spin offs. Kojima helped build the foundation for the spin off Metal Gear Rising, but yeah, no word on a part 2, but they have hinted at it, its designed to be a series.

Yeah, it should be a series, Konami would be dumb to just let that one die... then again Konami has been doing dumb things.

But yeah, every official statement from Konami has been that they will continue to develop Metal Gear games. No specifics beyond that, so whether it's a spin off, reboot or a milked ass sequel, we'll have to wait and see.

It's the last true Metal Gear. There will be more, and they will be shit. Just like the newer Silent Hill and Castlevania games.

In all likelihood it will be the last one worth playing, and hopefully the last one made, but that isn't a guarantee.
