Is Mac the worst gaming platform?

I have 2 macs, love it, no problems no crashes, everything runs smooth. Starts up in 2 seconds. But it has no games and in my opinion is definitely the worst gaming platform. I also have a PC but since PC sucks so bad and is so damn slow and is such a major headache to just go a month without malware/spyware/viruses, upgrades... I haven't even turned it on in a year. The good games aren't available on mac

Mac? No. You can install Windows on it afterall. And even in OSX I would argue there are worse platforms, like OUYA or Kindle

I don't find Windows cumbersome (and I daresay it is objectively the better OS), but I do think OS X is personally the better OS.

Half my PC library runs on mac.... so no it's not the worst. Vita is the worst.

windows Aero has alt+tab and Win+tab but it's not quite the same

Gestures are fine. But even with then and considering how great Mac touchpad is, I still couldn't give up Trackpoint for it.

But yeah, I would not suggest using a macbook pro for gaming, it will either deafen you or burst into flames

I use mine for making toast. If you flip it upside down let the screen hang over the edge of the table so the bottom part is flat you can fry an egg on it.

That's not always true. The boot up is no longer than Windows on an HDD. It can depend on how well you take care of it though, if you don't it can slow down over time. And every now and then you might need to repair disk permissions.

OS X has more games than LinuX (steam box)

It also has support from Blizzard and Maxis.

With Valve pushing for unix gaming, the future is bright and shiny like a bright shiny apple!

That said, it's not a good primary gaming PC, even with windows, not unless you like mobile graphics (that includes the iMac)

I work with Macs everyday, very slow systems, they break down constantly (I work as a service technician at a University), just getting around the UI is cumbersome, yes I could learn the short cut keys (imac, mac pro) but how is that user friendly for beginners, Aero on a windows pc is amazing after coming from a mac. 98% of the staff at the University with a Mac use it solely for windows, they fiddle around with the mac side just to learn on their down time if at all. Apple still releasing a single button mouse is atrocious, Macbooks with no numerical keys, God how I miss the "end"and "home" keys. OT: if you want to game, dont get a mac.

True. though my Windows 8 with an SSD loads in 5 seconds... infact, its only slower than that because the BIOS has to load my raid configuration up for my other HDDs.... loading windows is nearly instant after the bios.

I think Windows 8 is the top winner for boot times... with the exception of certain linux setups.

Apple's Mac sales have outpaced the PC industry in the last 36 of 37 quarters, or something to that effect. Perhaps you don't understand the market upon which you're commenting.

I think you might want to buy/build a decent PC before comparing. I don't have those issues. And upgrades don't actually take long....so not a big deal.

My rig is out of service, so now I am gaming on my MacBook Pro.

They are excellent laptops, you pay a premium for reliable machines. You can game on a Mac, just don't expect the same performance as a $1500 tower with R290 graphics card. That said, the gaming scene on OSX is less dire now thanks to Blizzard, Steam, and Riot.

I model, paint, and use brush from my mac book pro the PC would be better for rendering but my mac hasnt given me any of these problems your talking about.
