Is 2015 3DS's best year? Better than 2013?

This looks like to be the best year that Nintendo has had for a handheld in a long time. i definitely think it will be better than 2013. Majora's Mask, Monster Hunter 4, S.T.E.A.M., Xenoblade Chronicles.. and that's only the first four months of this year. Cray cray, if you ask me. What do you think, SW? Will 2013 be dethroned as 3DS's best year?

Maybe, but they need to clarify on the issues over the standard model for the New 3DS in NA and the fact that they both lack AC adapters in the box. Also depends on what other games they announce later this year, but it is looking great.

It's getting what a whopping one or maybe 2 games worth a damn this year? I fail to see how a 15 year old game and a 4 year old game are like shit to be excited about. At least with a Mother 3 the argument would be based around it never releasing in the west, but lol at Nintendo doing that.

If FE (pun not intended) comes out this year for NA, then yeah, I will be very happy indeed. If Bravely Second comes out in NA this year as well, then double that happiness.

Majora is great, but again, it's basically 15 year old game like champ said, and I'm skeptical about Xenoblade's performance. More or less same for Devil Survivor 2, it's basically an enhanced port of a game that came out quite some time ago. STEAM looks cool, but tbh the aesthetic (Japanese trying to be western comic) is not something I enjoy that much, and I have zero interest in an expansion of an action game with shitty controls (i.e. Monster Hunter).

I think 2015 has the potential to be the best year in gaming regardless of platform. Both PlayStation and Nintendo have lineups. X1 has... well lots of great third party games. PC is potentially getting Star Citizen.

Not for me, it isn't. Don't like Monster Hunter, S.T.E.A.M. looks horrible -- think I'd rather just play Valkyria Chronicles 1 and 2 again -- and Xenoblade won't run on my 3DS.

Oh well, this Vita backlog won't finish itself...

I don't think so. The line-up is nice, but it doesn't have a lot of new stuff. Granted that doesn't make it any less great. I think Majora's Mask, Devil Survivor 2, Monster Hunter 4, and Xenoblade is a pretty good start. But again three of those are ports if older games. And we still have no idea how steam will turn out. Or if Fire Emblem, and Bravely Second will release this year(I doubt it). The year seems packed so far, but a lot of that content by some could be considered ''old''.

I'm still hoping Square or Nintendo wise up and finally release Dragon Quest VII over here.

If the new FE releases this year (it won't) it might be half as good as 2013 was.

It's looking better than 2014 to say the least (last year was a MASSIVE joke for the platform).

Hm? It had Bravely Default, Kirby, Mario Golf, Yoshi's New Island, Ace Attorney, Professor Layton, Ace Attorney vs Professor Layton, Theathrythm, Super Smash Bros., Persona, and Pokemon. How is this bad? It was a step down from 2013, definitely, but it's not even close to being a 'joke' (let alone a MASSIVE one).

You want a bad year for the 3DS? You go look at 2012, now THAT was a shitty year.

Yoshi's New Island? Didn't people HATE that game? It was panned by critics last I checked.

Didn't help that third party support for the platform fell off because I surely don't remember many. I remember when FlamesofGrey showed off a list and even stated that the Vita was showing stronger third party support (at least from Japan).

The absence thus far of any Prof. Layton and/or/vs. Phoenix Wright titles makes this year inferior to the previous two for me. That said, it is nice to see the 3DS getting a promising FPS (Ironfall: Invasion) as well as Codename STEAM. Nonetheless, the 3DS still has a chance to out-do 2014 (even when faced with the likes of two Layton games and SSB4).

I just hope so. There is still a alot of unknowns for 2015 that I do not know whether 2013 will be exceeded.

I'm not really excited for much other than Majora's Mask and Devil Survivor 2: Record Breaker. There's bound to be more coming that'll interest me but until then I'm at a loss as to what they are.

Heck, I'd even say 2014 turned out to be a better year for me than 2015 is looking at the moment, for that year I got:

• Azure Striker Gunvolt
• Professor Layton vs Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney
• Super Smash Bros for 3DS
• Persona Q

2015 has a couple games that have my interest, I'm not sure it has yet to prove itself as the best year yet, though I can see the post-Nintendo Direct jitters getting you pretty amped up. I'd feel bad about not getting the LE Majora's Mask New 3DS except with removable face plates and all those LE 3DSs will be a thing of the past... hopefully.

2015 looks meh for both handhelds especially vita. Will get zelda, FE and MH. Maybe Xenoblade.

No. It's being characterized by remakes and a confusing system upgrade. Not so good so far.

Yeah, especially when you consider Nintendo isn't including the ac adapter with the N3DS XL system, no regular N3DS, and to top that off, most of the MM N3DS were preordered by scalpers. That has the potential to hurt Nintendo depending on how things go. I hope the majority of the systems on ebay don't sell so that scalpers are forced to take the systems back so people like my girlfriend that actually want them can get them from Gamestop or Best Buy and not scalpers on ebay.

I'm still beside myself on Nintendo making the excuse that they'd have to charge more for the system by simply including the adapter with every system. I don't want to have to buy a separate adapter with the new system because I was planning on selling my 2DS at Gamestop for credit once I transferred everything from the 2DS to the N3DS. People need to flood them with complaints about that.

Havent had any interst in my 3ds in quite some time. Probably wont be picking up another ninty handheld in the future, and Ive had one my entire life. Always got them at launch.

Why on earth would i want a vita when i already have the undisputed best handheld on the market right now?

@ripsaw1994: What's undisputed? Overrated iterations of the same franchises? The fact it's barely a decent handheld without Atlus and Nintendo? The fact it has less 9.0 games on it than the Vita? The way games on it usually have less compelling content compared to their past counterparts? The garbage indie support?

Nah man. Ain't undisputed. Got both and pretty sure I have more 3DS games than you as well.

Uh, the two latest versions of the Pokemon games have so much more content that Pokemon has reeled me back in to play. When was the last time Smash appeared on a Nintendo hand held? Fire Emblem Awakening is a joy to play. Luigi's Mansion, SF 64 3D, Persona, Phoenix Wright, Professor Layton, Fantasy Life, Kid Icarus, Mario and Luigi, Bravely Default, and more that I don't care to list. Looks like a nice lineup of games to me.
