I think Mortal Kombat and most other fighters, really, are way easier to learn than SF. Combos and special moves are a lot harder to pull off in SF than most other fighters I've played.

Possibly. There's a line to be crossed, which has already been crossed last gen, and Capcom probably makes more money of Street Fighter merchandise than the game itself. It is important for them to remain the premier fighting series.

They might think it will be easier or more profit by charging all the updates and extra characters one by one!
