Everyone is aware of the issues PC has encounter with this PS5 port to PC, but to simply say, "bad port" is the easy conclusion to make. The port effort did play a part, but it's not the whole story and to assume "more powerful hardware should make it run better" is also ignorant and exposes a lack of technical knowledge.
This analysis not only serves to explain what's happening with this game on PC, but also goes on to explain to why issues are seen and what systems in place are causing it to be as heavy as it is. Few people here have real technical understanding of how coding, hardware differences and development works, this will help to enlighten those who wish to learn.
- *If you have the hardware, PC can scale above the PS5, just don't simply rely on a more powerful GPU
- The game is very data driven and has a heavy reliance on CPU, VRAM and System RAM on PC
- 12GB VRAM cards are still likely worse than PS5 version, 16GB of VRAM will be required to match or exceed native PS5 title performance here and the future.
- To run maxed on PC it's recommended to have 32GB of system RAM and 16GB of VRAM
- 2070 super PC setups can not be able to match PS5 performance or graphics settings
