In your opinion, who won GOTY for 2013?

I'm surprised Zelda is leading. And Nintendo was leading the top 10 franchises poll too. Did System Wars just shift from Sony-centric to Nintendo-centric?

Grand Theft Auto V or Blood Dragon (I don't care if it's an expansion, it doesn't require FC3 to play so I count it) I haven't played Zelda because I'm not big on handhelds and I didn't play The Last of Us until the remaster so I won't pick that, it's actually funny seeing people get so pissed off at Gamespot for having an opinion though, it's like we all have to think and like the same things, **** that.

Probably Bioshock Infinite.

I honestly had the most fun with Fire Emblem Awakening. Zelda was a very close second though.

I didn't much care for the Last of Us. I don't really care for Naughty Dog games in general though aside from Uncharted 2.

My own GOTY was Shadow Warrior . However , if you consider everything then Black Flag was true GOTY material ; Unbelievable production values , Great visuals , Overwhelming amount of features , Huge Map and very high replay value . It wasn't just "another Assassin's Creed game" .

As far as TC's list goes ... The Last of Us .

TLOU was a good game. Zelda was probably better. It was a smart choice for GOTY.

I would say The Legend of Zelda: A link between Worlds. Since a game has to rely on gameplay above all else (even though everything else is a nice addition, It was the smartest choice. A damn good game.

TLOU had a really well executed story, offered a good first impression, good (although average) gameplay componants woven nicely together, but the gameplay was good not great. Whoever claims it was as good as hyped, either haven't been playing alot of games, or insanely biased point of view.

GTA V was better then GTA IV but lets be honest, anything would be better then GTA 4, GTA 5 felt tired, archeic controls and gameplay elements, strung together by a good story (but not TLOU execution), and it simply could'nt stay interresting enough. It had points of near brilliance, follwoed by something that made me Wonder if I was playing something from 2003.

Alot of poeple would vote infinate, and while a good game, it felt "less" then the first Bioshock, both in execution and the World around you. Often felt like you were going through a live theatre you could not interact with, to where you felt you had control, but did not feel or look like the threatre you were standing in a while ago. It felt jarring, perhaps a bit too hastily put together.

Super Mario 3D World, is a good honerbly mention, but something about the controls seemed odd for some reason. A really good game overlooked by many, but certainly not beating Zelda.

Dota 2 officially launched in 2013 aswell. But while many will claim it a good game, I can not stand Mobas, so I will not comment on it at all. Let us just say that I do not feel like it would be GOTY.

Assassins Creed: Black Flag, is a worthy contender for the best game last year. It dragged a bit too long, and it lost focus more then a few times, but if I had to be honest it is likely the best AC game ever created, and the story were good (shockingly enough since it was an AC game).

So overall (and after a wall of text). I would say that the best game last year was indeed.

Wow. You do things on the internet because people tell you to. That's sad.

I just finished A Link Between Worlds, and it lived up to the hype. It's a fantastic game from start to finish. Definitely more enjoyable and memorable than TLOU. However, I have not played GTA V because I refuse to play it on any other system besides PC, so it may still win my vote.

id be mad too if I were a lemming with no games, while TLOU won 249 goty awards over zelda's 6

i guarantee the poll would be different if I put in titanfall because its obvious that both nintendo and m$ fanboys are trying to team up against sony. and look they barely won the poll.

At the moment it appears to be Divinity: Original Sin.

I find it funny GS is the black sheep of the internet regarding this game.

So many ppl and/or sites gave TLoU GotY or gave it higher than an 8. GS gotta be different. I don't think they knew how much ppl would love it and tried to downplay it's worth.

If I were to rank the games from the poll: ALBW > TLOU > GTAV.

Obviously The Last of Us. It received 200+ GOTY awards and a 95 on Metacritic for a reason.

Tomb Raider, followed by Pikmin 3 and Beyond: Two Souls... and an honorable mention to Metro: Last Light and Dead Space 3.

I don't wanna begin touching what was on the 3DS, too much goodness in 2013.
