"During this time of self-reflection were aiming to improve as many aspects of the site as possible. One of the biggest issue plaguing GameSpot is the abysmal practices seen in our comment section."
Not even close to being one of your top problems, as a long time member, poster, lurker and reader of GS I've seen the bad and the good of GS like the Jeff fiasco, the numerous horrible reviews, the merger between Gamespot and Gamefaqs just to name a few. The GS staff needs a re work, their skillset for being professional video game journalist/critics is poor at best.
What makes people upset is not the scores your reviewers gives games it's how they do their reviews, without giving names you have a reviewer who plainly trolls the fanboys on this site, you have a feminist who makes it their crusade to make it a issue in every game they review that doesn't show strong powerful women kicking arse, then you have a sketchy reviewer who makes it his crusade to try and change how we look at games and he doesn't even finish or come close to finish a game when he does a review.
If you were a manager say...at a grocery store, someone came to you the manager saying one of your employees is acting rudely and un professional (say this isn't the first customer who's complained about that employee), do you A.) take action towards the customer for speaking to you ruining your lunch break or B.) Give disciplinary action towards the employee.
Also I'm not gonna say every poster on this site is a angel and yea there are some terrible posters here so I'm not gonna say we're not at all to blame, but you do have to see it through our eyes when we've asked for Union overhauls that were promised 5 years ago, then the whole spotty reviewers/journalists doesn't help ether.
If you want the community and GS to be better, work WITH us, NOT against us.
