EGM also gave the first syphon filter a 7/10 for being a "weak MGS". They're giving Lair a 6/10 for being a fanmodded rouge leader?

BAD

- They thought dragons were a re-skinned X-wings (Legit complaints? I guess in a way it is, but is it really wrong for developers to use successful flight game engine for another flight game?)

- The dragons shooting fireball was odd and wasn't realistic enough (Any game with dragons aren't really going for realism..., if they are talking about how fireball looks, I'd say this is meaningless complaints because it looked good enough on videos. If they are talking about the physics of fireball flying.... I'll say, wtf did you expect? Ball of fire shooting out is supposed to be unrealistic. That's like complaining about Ryu's Hadoken should decrease in angle it is projectiled as it moves forward because of gravitational force...)

- The game had no map and someone asked if the graphics were good and he said "its high Def" and he didn't like the color used, everything was brown and grey. (I don't think EGM complained about lack of colors in Gears of War, did they? However no map does hurts.)

- They didn't like the art ****and the game lacked innovation. (I think the art ****is fine and that is very very subjective opinion so it shouldn't really count as negatives. If you want really bad art **** check Oblivion which I doubt EGM complained about. As for innovation, the use of sixaxis alone should be innovative enough. It's not like Halo 3 is re-inventing FPS).

-They say it's basically Rouge Leader with a fan mod. Well, I thought that Rouge Leader was really good, wouldn't you? Developers stick to certain genre(s) because it's what they're good at, no one expected total changes from Rouge Leader-Lair.

Well, Mass Effect is a new IP, same genre as KOTOR, looks alot like KOTOR, that had better get a bad score too.

LAIR the much anticipated ps3 dragon game has gone public and GLADLY the reviews show that is SUCKS. a mixture of 5s-6s from EGM and there are more to come. just wanted to state that xb360 will dominate from here on out. thank youzath5

first of all, this is old news. second of all, your basing this thread on one single review from a magazine?? Your making it clear to all of us that you want Lair to flop as badly as possible, but unfortunately, there is no definite proof that it will. we're just going to have to wait and see what GameSpot, IGN, and other websites have to say.

well in reply.....yes i want the game to fail bc its a ps3 exclusive. secondly yes it has pretty graphics but paris hilton is pretty too? why does everyone say that Lair couldnt be made on a 360....do you know that? do you work in such fields as to speak on what the game actually needs to run? i think this is the begining of flops for ps3 exclusives.....lair, littlebigworld, even heavenly sword (aka goddess of war). someone mentions "brute force" being a flop at a 7.6....what about killzone 1???? 6.9 FTW? who even wanted a sequel.....zath5
