What do you think about indies, SW? Love 'em? hate'em? don't really care? I originally didn't think much of them, but this new gen has convinced me that there's definitely a place for them in the industry and in my library. Especially for my Vita. It's almost like they were made for the system (fits the screen well, controls are simple, you can bring it anywhere). Consoles I have yet to rap my head around just because I really want to enjoy something grander on my big tv screen with my dualshock 4.

Also, what is your definition of indie? I know literal interpretation means it was developed by an independent studio, but I always likened them to the smaller experiences this article talks about. I definitely think the industry needs indies as it fills avoid for games that we don't see too much anymore. Bonus question: Will indies flourish this gen? I hope so

Indies, more often than not, are not my type of game. AAA action or action adventure or shooter are what I mostly play.

Though I did absolutely adore Gone Home.

I think the hate right now at this very moment is all we are getting are indies. Who buys a console for indies? Nobody. It's been a slow gen and indies are not filling the void.

Indie games are the PlayStation Store avatars of video games.

They do the same with movies... only the movies advertised in flashy AAA trailers could possibly be good films....

Because most of them barely constitute as serious games. Cheesy basement brews and grad school projects being passed off as legit. It's not all of them , but it's most. It's not what people buy new consoles for , especially when most of them also look stuck in the mid 2000s graphically

I don't mind indie games so long as they aren't the only offering. Looking at you PSV. Granted, without indie games, we'd have nothing. Sony basically screwed the pooch with the PSV.

Indies are great on PC. Not on PS4.
