Fast-forward some six months after PlayStation 4's launch, where saying that Sony has a commanding lead over Microsoft at this early point is an understatement.PlayStation 4 has sold over 7 million units. Each of those consoles is in consumers' hands, attached to a television in their homes. Microsoft, on the other hand, has shipped 5 million units, and perhaps half a million or more are still sitting on store shelves. PlayStation 4s are hard to find. There are more Xbox Ones than the market currently demands.

Two or three million consoles isn't an insurmountable lead to overcome by any stretch of the imagination, but the fact that Sony has managed to sustain -- and extend -- its lead at a time when Xbox One's ace in the hole, Titanfall, was launched, says a lot.Titanfall was March, 2014's best-selling game in the US, and yet PlayStation 4 still outsold Xbox One.

Honestly one of the most stupid things I've read. If IGN wasn't such a shitty site and Colin didn't get as high of a position as he has, no way would the clown still have a job.

People want next gen consoles - they're done waiting. The PS3 and 360 are like 8/9 years old. I for one will not wait a single more year to get a next gen console and games like AC Unity, Arkham Knight, Infamous Second Son, Evolve, The Crew etc are all making that a billion times easier.

Last Gen was the only generation where Microsoft was able to successfully outsell Playstation. Since the PS1, Playstation has been the console leader. Why is it any surprise that it is once again the market leader in the console gaming industry?

Dude, you're better than this. You've read my posts, and you know I'm not damage controling- you know I like the PS4, you know I maintain that it's the best console of its generation, just like the PS3 and PS2 were before it.

But if you are going to make a blanket statement like 'Sony is winning the war,' then you have to consider all aspects of the competition, you can't pick and choose, and Sony is getting its ass handed to it in the handheld war, which yes, is equally a part of the war, especially since they decided to introduce themselves into it.

Indeed. Sony really played their cards well when MS dug their own grave with the bad press they got for the allegedly intrusive tech in the Bone.

The author stated truths about Sony's success with the PS4 despite MS's efforts with their most hyped and marketed game of the year "titanfall" and the fact that PS4 still came out on top. That information makes him angry and butthurt so he wants to lash out at the messenger.

Same can be said for Nintendo, except the 3DS is still tracking poorly compared to even the PSP so it is winning a market that is dying.

Legitimately, the 8th gen "War" is over if MS is facing an uphill battle winning back the US. They came up with a shit console and the writing is on the wall.

If Sony don't make another one, that's because they got humiliated twice in a row- the PSP was awesome and did great, not because of anything Sony did, but because third parties came in and bailed their asses out the last minute.
