8.3

No surprise, a great game is still great. I loved this game back in 2011 and have been meaning to give it a runthrough against Pokemon Black to see which one was my true GOTY from that spectacular year for gaming.

This was reviewed on the Wii U. No surprise, the tablet works great for this game and the touched-up bosses will make many people happier. The price is bleh, so GG Nintendo.

This game is being sent out to die. I can buy this for like 5, 10 bucks; is the improved boss fights and some touch up worth it for the premium price.

Calling it right now, once this sells poorly SE will act all surprised and say the Nintendo fanbase hates their games.

"We just don't understand why a game released in 2011 for Xbox 360, Playstation 3, and the computer that was then released in 2013 for $50 on the Wii-U and $30 for the Xbox 360 and Playstation 3, could be purchased in full for $5 to $10 on the computer and was released a mere two weeks before the launch of two new video game consoles, didn't sell well on the Wii-U. It must be Nintendo's audience!" - Square Enix on Deus Ex Human Revolution Director's Cut poor sales.

The game was OK, definitely not something I would buy again. I beat it, I've moved on. Good to see that it got good ratings.

How so? Isn't it also a retail copy for the 360/ps3 like the WiiU?

I'll wait for the Steam Sale.

For WiiU I'll wait for Bargin bin if I even get around to get it. (probably not.)

@freedomfreak: Steam (I assume that XBL & PSN would be the same) allows you to just upgrade your normal edition of the game to the updated one.

Oh shoot. That's awesome. Might just do that then. Like hell I'm spending 55euros for a simple upgrade.

Can't get over that ign comments section. Everyone is saying the reviewer is contradicting theirself by saying the game is an improvement over the original but got a lower score.

ffs are people really that dumb... The game came out two years ago and is 50 freaking dollars with not too much new added to the game. You can't just rerelease the same games every couple of years and add a few touches and expect to get the better scores. especially when the original version is dirt cheap and easily available. What is it like 7 bucks on steam and xbox/ps3??...

Simple and straightforward controls are a bad thing?

The best games are the ones which achieve a lot depth while keeping complexity under control. If you want your fingers all over the keyboard, start writing books and stuff. Having a game forcing you to use the entire keyboard to play properly is hardly something worth bragging about.

Anyways, will try it out eventually, interested in the new boss battles. Before the next Deus Ex game is out, will do a franchise replay.

so basically you are saying that lets turn complex game into 3 button game. Original DEUS EX was very deep and complex game.

why bother making it more accessible so those who suck at gaming can play it??

No... if the game's difficulty comes from a confusing and needlessly complex control scheme, that's bad game design, with the whole thing feeling cheap.

Try playing Demon's Souls or Dark Souls... nice and intuitive control scheme, yet both games offer a very good challenge. A good game, like Deus Ex HR can be played by anyone, you can simply shoot everyone, and be done with it. Or you can be patient and complete the game with no kills or alerts, which is much more challenging. But, in both cases, the controls won't be getting in the way. That's good game design.

They integrated the controls into the Wii U's touchpad in a way they hoped would be intuitive. Truly, a classic case of dumbing down.

Seriously should have gone with a special edition of tomb Raider or something, with all the DLC. Would be a couple months late, be with all the DLC at a lower price would have been a much better idea then a 2 year old game. FFS, companies send games to die, who makes these dumb choices?

Kind of expected ~7 territory, seems to be where a lot of Nintendo-bound re-releases fall. So that's pretty good, then.

It's got one of the worst cover arts I've ever seen, but I like the idea of updated boss battles. Still need to complete my second runthrough of that game too.

I'll pick up this copy as well.

I have the original but haven't gotten the DLC yet So I'll be only too happy to get this and support a good game while I'm at it.

Deus Ex has simple controls once you cut out all the stupid stuff the binded to keys and rearrange it so it actually makes sense. It blows my mind how stupidly convoluted they made the default controls in it.

Looks like I'll have to get this "definitive version" that fixes the broken boss battles and utilizes the Wii U gamepad well. I'd sell my PS3 version but I wouldn't get squat for it.

The original was basically move, crouch, interact, and shoot.

Control wise it was pretty basic. You'd have to be an idiot to think it's complex.

I'm not sure if this is worth it, but it's 75% off on Steam because I own Human Revolution & the Missing Link... so I might just.

Thoughts, guys?

The Steam forums are full of people bitching about "charging money for a patch."
