I've played Assassin's Creed II to near 100% completion and have already sunk an unholy amount of time into AC4. So far I can say that the second was pretty good and that the fourth is just incredible.
P.S. What IS the deal with Assassin's Creed III? It looks pretty similar to the rest of the series. What exactly did the developers do so wrong that particular time? I've always been curious about this.
I'm just going to copy/paste what I wrote in another thread where I outlined the flaws with Assassin's Creed III:
'Broken pacing, banal and repetitive mission design, ancillary activities that had no bearing on the main story, bugs and glitches all over the place, a bullshit story, just off the top of my head.'

@charizard1605: flagged for blasphemy... :P seriously you know I trust your opinion on AC, Tell me why... Because if the flow of missions resembles ac3 in the least i'm gonna be disappointed. Tell me they nailed it char
The game is so brisk, no more ten hour long tutorials, or broken pacing with monotonous mission design, no more side activities that have nothing to do with the main game itself, it's got incredible mission variety, a very fast pace, and an open world that is literally yours to do with as you will, with everything counting towards something, nothing being pointless. If you come online on Steam, I can tell you more about it :P

Revelations is very underrated within the series, it's most definitely better than I and III and imo better than Brotherhood since it felt more like an expansion to II.
The setting and feel of the game was amazing, one of the best openings to a video game ever, story was great too since I fucking love Altair but I can see why a lot of people dislike it. For me it was a perfect ending to Ezio and Altairs story.
Anyway Can't wait to play Black Flag, waiting for the next gen version.
I actually liked Revelations, not for the gameplay as much, which was just a retread of the previous two games, but because of how well it ended the story; Revelations actually ended the story much better than III managed to do.
