Eurogamer also gave it a 9/10!

So far it has an 87 on meta,a couple of days ago had an 83 and yesterday 85 so it´s going up lol.

It's a good game for a free to play. I hate the F2P style but the game is a hell of a lot of fun. Massive battles get it bonus points from me.

I can't see anyone spending much real money on this game, most of the weapons are NOT that much more useful than the standard weapons you start with. A few of them might be necessary for certain play styles but honestly you'll be spending most of your time just earning certs to unlock the weapon upgrades, not spending money to buy the actual weapon. The certs are where you will be spending your time.

I guess when I think about it a few people will be wasting lots of money buying boosts for certs but I certainly won't.

Yeah, it's nothing like a standard MMO really. You're on a HUGE f*cking map, you decide where you want to go to cause havoc...then you go there. Of course, it's a lot more in-depth than that but meh. Give it a try, you have nothing to lose man (other than a tiny chunk of bandwidth and some time).

Usually, I'm no fan of F2P. But Planetside 2 really does things right on that front...

As others stated, why not give it a try before passing judgment?

You play the game normally. There is no "grinding", unless you consider every multiplayer game in existance a "grind".

In a way yes, and there's far more room to do what you want. It's a sci-fi battlefield blend, with an objective capture system. Pretty decent blend most of the time. The battles get pretty intense, especially when you find a good squad to be in.

Its okay, its doing everything worse then C&C Renegade, which is damn near 10 years old by now.

Its no 9.5, its a good free to play game, and the carrot is kind of there, but its also kind of not.

Iv unlocked 2 this week using XP as well as a few class and vehicle upgrades.

Looks like the PS3 could not contain all the domination. Now it has started spreading to other platforms.BPoole96

In order for it to spread Planetside 2 to other platforms it would have had to have it in the first place, which it doesnt.

I give the game a solid 8.0. It's a great game but it squanders a lot of its potential. That said, the game is going to radically change in the coming months and years so it will be quite awesome to see what happens with it.

It suffers what all F2P games suffer though, the fact that the majority of people believe F2P means that they have to do anything they can to make sure they don't pay a penny. That means they'll play for dozens of hours to unlock something and then complained it was too long for a free game. However if you're playing the game 10+ hours a week, maybe you should pay some money here and there. I've played retail games for far less time than I've put into PS2 so far.

The game is far more than Battlefield on steroids, but if you're not playing with an organized outfit and didn't play any Planetside 1, I can see where you would think that. Playing alone the game is quite boring after awhile. If you're playing with an organized outfit and actually getting into the metagame and whatnot, the game becomes quite fun and deep.

Sony clearly felt sorry for hermits and their lack of quality games and decided to give them a little sample of delicious milk out of the kindness of their hearts :P.

Becuase the PS3 couldn't handle it.Maybe the PS4.

Do you ever wonder why Sony went to CCP and bought the rights to Dust 514? They realized they couldn't make PS2 work on the PS3 so they decided to find a different developer to make a F2P "MMOFPS" on the PS3.

It was a smart choice not trying to make it work on the PS3. It never would have worked, it wouldn't have been a proper Planetside game.
