Poll: If you have a console do you also have a PC? (80 votes)

Yes 95%
No 5%

YES ADMINS THIS IS A QUESTION.

I run with the assumption that all people with a console have a PC as well...but its an assumption so this question is an honest question

I prefer to think of it like, i have a PC and i also have some consoles, because PC is king...

#12 Edited by SolidTy (43365 posts) -

I have four PCs, I game on two of them pretty extensively...but mainly for select genres (RTS, MMO, and Indie). For the rest of the game types, I got my consoles.

#13 Edited by Sword-Demon (6970 posts) -

Yep, my pc easily gets most of my playtime

Basically this.

I'm assuming everyone in these forums has a PC otherwise it's unlikely they'd be posting anything here.

As their MAIN computing device? Even my most PC illiterate/technophobe family member owns a PC - even if it's one of those horrible all in ones. Have you every tried writing a psot longer than two sentences on a tablet/phone? It's the frustraiton of Super Meat Boy with none of the payoff.

Never said it's impossible, but get a keyboard and you can do it.

But I know that I'm pretty sure that there's at least 1 PC in every house

I see you don't own an iPad then. Typing on an iPad is not frustrating.

Most people here have a PC just not a gaming PC but it's not needed. Most prebuilt 300-400$ laptops you can buy at Future shop can play older games hermits like to go on about and even a few new ones assuming you don't mind putting the settings on low and generally having your new games look and move like shit.

#21 Edited by Vatusus (4616 posts) -

Yes. Its not a very powerfull rig by any means but does its job well. I can play the best PC exclusives with it cause usually they arent really demanding. Everything else I play on consoles and ever will.

#22 Posted by trugs26 (5501 posts) -

TC, you might want to elaborate and state clearly "gaming PC". I highly doubt many people are consistantly on these forums from public computers like library computers. A somewhat redundant question unless you specify clearly "gaming PC".

#23 Posted by whiskeystrike (12068 posts) -

Yup, got an Android cellphone.

#24 Posted by FoxbatAlpha (7157 posts) -

I have a gaming PC and play Arma., DayZ and recently Rust. It is also great for porn too.

#25 Posted by NFJSupreme (5377 posts) -

I have a gaming PC and all the last gen consoles. Haven't got any current gen consoles yet because they have no games.

I have 2 gaming PCs and several laptops. The PS3 is my only gaming console atm. I've owned a 360 and a Wii U as well.

#30 Posted by VERTIGO47 (6266 posts) -

Um....yeah, obviously.

#31 Edited by Weird_Jerk (588 posts) -

As per the wording of the OP, I do not necessarily own a PC if I own a console, no.

However, I do own a PC.

#32 Posted by blamix99 (1964 posts) -

#36 Posted by sukraj (22803 posts) -

#37 Posted by Cobra_nVidia (1562 posts) -

I have a Windows Gaming Desktop and a Macbook Pro. I also have a Vita, PS3, and XBOX 360.

I mostly play PC exclusives like strategy and building games. But I like my PS3 for Japanese-based games that aren't available on PC.

I have a Macbook Pro and an iMac, so no I do not have a PC. Otherwise I have a PS4, Wii U, Vita, and 3DS as well as a PS3 and other past consoles.

EDIT: Unless we are considering Macs as PCs as they are computers, then yes I have a PC. But to go along with the marketing of Mac and PCs, I said no in the poll.

#42 Posted by shellcase86 (1934 posts) -

Yup. I don't game on it though.

#43 Edited by slantedandencha (363 posts) -

yes

pc, xbone, 360 and ps3

pc easily gets most of my time (spent all weekend playing eso and smite)

#44 Edited by Phreek300 (198 posts) -

Sure do. My rig is a lil older with an i7 3770K @ 4.2ghz (lost the die lottery), 16gbs of Vengeance DDR3 memory, and a GTX680. Not too shabby. To go along with it I have a PS4, 3DS, Vita, XBOX 360, PS3, Wii U, Neo Geo CD, and a Sega Saturn all in my small entertainment stand. LOL I may game too much.....

A modern Mac is a PC in every meaning of the term. (well...not "politically correct" for example...)

"PC" is a shortened form of "IBM PC-Compatible"

Unlike Apple or Commodore, IBM had nothing to do with the IBM PC's operating system - it was Microsoft DOS. As a result, many computers were essentially clones of the IBM PC, and that's what the term refers to.

Macs used to use Motorola (CISC) CPU's, then AIM Power PC (RISC) CPU's. Now it uses Intel x86 (CISC) CPU's and is completely compatible with Windows.

I'm pretty sure everyone does. Gaming PC on the other hand, no where near as many.
