Gears of War made the PS3 look silly back in 2006 yet that system still caught up.

Microsoft and Sony are much smarter than System Wars gives them credit for. A few games won't swing it one way or the other.

The PS4 won't have an AAA exclusive this year either. Expect AA games to be released this year mostly.

xbox was never going to be first anyway. It doesn't matter what kind of games they release, if they couldn't stomp the PS3 then it will never be able to do so.

Less games, worse graphics, worse online, worse controller, way more expensive, total domination in one of the biggest video game market (NA)... I don't think a setting like this will ever gonna be repeated by Sony. Like seriously, for the first 3 years Xbox had the most games in every single genre including more Japanese games in general! Capcom, Square, Namco, MistWalker were all in bed with MS. And even with all that the PS3 continued to outsell the X360 on WW sales almost every single month.

If he is talking about budget I doubt driveclub's budget is the budget of an AAA exclusive(but it still may be one, but that's only one game) and no one knows if the order will release this year. We don't have a set date for that game yet.

Xbox won't have a good exclusive Microsoft is to content to rehash trash like Halo and Forza for the gen. When they finally step outside their comfort zone we end up with garbage like dud rising, Ryse and killer instink.

The days of Perfect Dark, Conker, Dead or Alive, Rallisport Challenge, Bioware RPGs and Ninja Gaiden are long gone. Xbox is dead.

Microsoft has very little left after they killed off so many studios or lost them to EA/Activision. So they just run these two franchises into the ground.

Neither console has any real AAA exclusives at this point.

You can point to GS scores for hype ownage if you want but there are a few games that have received AAA scores from various individual sites but true critically acclaimed games (games that achieved an over all AAA rating from the majority of critics MC) are not to be found on either system at the time.

Even Killzone 2, a game that many people love to throw jabs at achieved AAA status on MC and the much hyped Titanfall wasn't even able to do that.

Getting AAA scores here a GS are nice an all but none of the AAA scores GS has given out for exclusives this gen except for Super Mario 3D world have been certified as credible by the rest of the gaming community.

It will be interesting to see what the first true AAA exclusive game ends up being from PS4 or xbone and which system gets it.

"to here that"? I assume you mean "hear"? And I'm not a lemming. I literally haven't played a game on xbox in years as I exclusively game on PC, though I do intend on buying both the ps4 and XB1 by the end of 2014 as there are games on both I'm interested in.

Have you not noticed that the single largest genre on consoles is FPS? What game started that phenomenon? Halo did. Yes, there were FPS games on consoles before Halo just as there were open world games before GTA, but Halo was the catalyst the proved FPS games on console could compete with PC. 16 player LAN matches with your friends in Halo:CE was as close to gaming nirvana as I've ever gotten.

I agree with you that the relative importance of Halo has diminished in recent years. That's simply because other shooter series have ridden in on the coat tails and taken it's place, namely Call of Duty.

Xbox One is fine, the exclusives are great and have replayability especially a game like dead rising 3 with co-op. PS4 exclusives are lacking fun. Imagine if Infamous had co-op..... With xbox one being weaker, the software on the one is a lot more fun than ps4 exclusives with singleplayer focus.

Now that the prices will be the same come June, it's really going to depend on which console manufacturer supports their console with the best games. Sony has done a great job of doing it in the past, but MS has the money to out bid Sony on games if they really take the console race seriously. MS did a great job at the beginning of last gen, but fell off when most of the original Xbox people left. Phil could be leading the brand in the right direction, but only time will tell. E3 will tell a lot. We can be pretty sure of one thing...this E3 probably won't be filled with Kinect garbage like 2012's.
