AMSTERDAM - The weblog of BBC News chief executive David Laux has informed IBM that the computer has serious ambitions to join the game market.

With the development of games for the business to the number of IBM products and expand the overall costs down to the company.

"We zijn er achter gekomen dat je met behulp van games unieke vaardigheden kunt ontwikkelen, gezien het grote aantal verschillende genres", aldus Laux . "We find that you can use unique games can develop skills, given the large number of different genres," said Laux.

"So you have the casual games of the memory and the drive train to distinguish between small details, and there are the shooter games that the reaction to develop.Verder zijn role playing-games als World of Warcraft uitermate geschikt om leiderschapskwaliteiten bij iemand naar boven te brengen." Furthermore, role-playing games like World of Warcraft is extremely suitable for someone with leadership qualities to top it. "

Het is vooralsnog onduidelijk welk soort games we in de toekomst van de succesvolle computerfabrikant kunnen verwachten. It is unclear what sort of games we have in the future of the successful computer can expect.Laux kon verder ook nog niet duidelijk maken wanneer IBM precies de daad bij het woord zal voegen en daadwerkelijk games zal gaan ontwikkelen. Laux was also not yet clear when exactly the IBM action to the word and will add real games will develop.

I wander how they would do as a game maker.

There's already enough competition, they should just stick to making the hardware for the other consoles.

if they want to develop games, then i'm all for that. If they want to release a console, i'll wait until it is deemed a success, as i doubt they have it in them to be serious competitors.

They don't really focus much on actual PCs anymore. I know they do server work as well as develop chips for gaming consoles (Both the Wii and PS3 use some of their tech). But they used to have mouses, keyboards, etc.

They make computers and laptops(Lenovos). My college has a huge partnership with them and sells Lenovos from our computer store. Actually my Comp. Sci. I teacher, who also works at IBM, worked on some of the chipsets that went into the Wii, PS3 and 360.

Bad idea. I think it's just going to be too competitive and IBM's new console will just flop.

If they do appear in the vg competition, I propose the IBM fanboys be called "raccoons".

Seriuolsy though, with the economy and their lack of experience, it would be a terrible idea.

Instead of releasing a console, they should buy up all the developers that would otherwise go out of business, like Free Radical. That way everybody wins!

IBM is already providing CPUs for the 3 consoles, IDE, compliers, optimised PowerPC/SPE math libraries and fabricating certain NVIDIA GPUs. With development support for optimised PowerPC and SPEs math libraries, IBM already developed relationships with game developers.

Remember, it took the combine might of Microsoft**, Intel**, Compaq, DELL** to drive away IBM from the controlling the X86 PC business.

Guys, i don't know what You are reading here but i am reading something else entirely...
The source is about some IBM guy saying games are good for learning the way the world works. Communication, organisation, etc.
The only paragraph that vaguely says anything about IBM + games is this:
"
But now the endorsement is coming from Big Blue. Well actually from David Laux who is the global executive in charge of games and interactive entertainment at IBM. Admittedly it's not a company you would naturally associate with gaming, but they have a business stake in all of this. The company says its aim is to help the industry leverage IBM's products in developing games and cutting overall costs.
"
Which doesn't say anything interesting as far as i can see...

I thought they already made some of the 360's chips... I visited their museum in San Francisco. Sounded REALLY boring, but t was cool. Really nice gift shop. Got some awesome headphones and a shirt there.

I don't know what else to say to this but just a big no, it is already competitive as it is and don't need another company in it here. If they do make a console hopefully they don't buy exclusive because I rather have more option for games, but if they develop games then I am okay with it. It is bad as it is right now with three but four company is way off the top.

Because they came out of nowhere while we're fighting for the same reasons over hating a system, just like how a raccoon attacked Peter Griffin when he came out of nowhere.

I think they mainly want to make games at least that's what I get from the article. But if they did decide to make a console to it would be pretty easy for them considering they made the CPUs in all current generation consoles.
