I wonder why Sony didn't release U.S. number at 18.5?

Sony announced that they outsold the Xbox one in the UK as number one console, also beat them BF and CM (despite XB winning November) and beat them In december.

This was clearly a bounce and MS's November winning announcement. Yet oddly enough they nrver mentioned sales over in the U.S., I mean I suppose they could be waiting till NPD, but then again Sony did not wait for UK harts which is weird. If MS did indeed close and pass the gap that may be why they decided to keep the deals temp as promised.

I myself have seen inconsistent sales at certain retailers so this DEC NPD may be the biggest one, it will either surprise or or Still surprise us. But not as much.

This is getting sad, lems cannot understand that ps4 is stronger and is destroying xbone in sales, they have to spin everything.

December won't be much of a surprise. From what I've seen, It's agreed upon that the Xbone won again but the gap is much closer than the November one. NPD will be releasing the numbers.

I know you want the gap to be closed, but that's just unreasonable. The difference between them after November was around 700k.

It's not unreasonable at all. We won't know until DEC, remember people though the PS4 had a possibility of Winning as well in Novemebr, and though the gap would be minimal at best.

This is a response thread... Everything you said can just be filed in the other thread you were just posting in. You are already posting in the other "PS4 sold 18.5 million worldwide" thread (link).

If US sales specifically matter to you, no one can really say for certain until those specific sales numbers release...and even then, that's one region of the world, who cares ultimately since worldwide/total sales is both companies ultimate goal.

About NPD almost 100$ clearly and has nothing to do with that thread outside Sonys other statements uring the time they announced the number. The UK number were separate and stated later. I'm just saying that their assault on their Uk numbers and some other areas seems odd since U.S. was left blank.

The gap is minimal in the U.S. (my guess is 5%), in Europe it's 50% and in Japan it's Sony land. The Xbox will to have lean on the U.S. market again like they did with the first Xbox.

I don't understand... If the Bone edged out the PS4 in NA for one more month due to expiring bundles AND a temporary price cut (which it better have) does it really matter if they still list more ground WW?

People don't seem to get it: The holiday price cut and promotions were never about catching the PS4 in sales WW, or even in a couple countries. MS can PR it up, down, and sideways, but they know that's not going to happen without far more drastic, permanent, and WW measures.

They were a necessary evil to get the install base boosted in key markets to keep 3rd party devs/publishers committed to supporting the system. That's it. And by that measure they had a great holiday, and got a couple PR pot shots in to boot! XBoys keep setting themselves up for disappointment by not understanding what the game is at this point. Time to adjust your expectations.

It's doubtful XB1 is ahead in total US sales. You can also expect the XB1 to get throttled once the price goes back to $400.

TC raises a good point. Sony uses its PR that they fanboys eat up. The could say that they sold 500 consoles in Nigeria and fanboys would parade the news around like WWII was just won.

Sony is telling the truth but deflecting the bigger news. The race in N.A. was close and the fact that they lost another month (possibly by a big margin) means they could have lost the lead here.

When is the last time MS even released numbers? All they do is give out "soon to be shipped" numbers. They've probably been doubled up in WW sold numbers.

I would place the PS4 at 7 million right now over the X1 in WW sales. Not quiet doubled but damn close. PS4 will double it if Microsoft sits at $399.

That is because you don't know how to count,we now what the xbox one sold last year 3 million units,+ we know what it has sold since January 1 to November which is more or less in US 3.16 millions and like 1.5 millions on the rest of the world which would be like 4.6 million units + the 3 from last year it is like 7.6.

So add 2.2 which you claim is been rumor to be sold and that is 9.8 So they would be barely touching 10 million with help for outside US sales,the PS4 has some 8.5 million units ahead which is close to 2 to 1.

If it is at 2.2k That would mean the X1 outsold the PS4 in NPD Dec. by 1 million to take back America. "It's a calculated rumor at this point, with whispers of it doing Wii December numbers."

They outsold sony by 400k and that was when the unit was at its lowest $330 with 2 games and a free $50 gift card,also sony stepped up in December and make several bundles so i think they were not outsold by more than double of what they were in november is very hard to swallow.

They've had the cumulative lead since launch and probably still do.

Uh no, it's possible stop with your inner fanboy. The PS4 didn't even .the Xbox one, it won for 10 months straight but the average the PS4 beat the Xbox One is literally around 90k. With the one exceptions being TF and Destiny Months. Where the former was smaller and the latter was slightly bigger.In one month have the 10 month streak was removed, so i mean, if they don't it will still be very close.
