Hyrule Warriors-Hype GOTY Out in Japan 33 Minutes Gameplay

Have you played a Dynasty Warriors game before? Not saying it won't be good but it won't be a GOTY contender.

I also want to point out, even though I agree this game looks good, I think it will be slammed at Gamespot and won't be a GotY nominee, let alone winner. This is not a slight against this game- just that whenever Gamespot has actually posted about this game, they have been highly critical of it and very negative, so I don't see them suddenly changing their minds when they do play the entire thing.

No, they have a unique mode planned for people wanting to play online.

My guess is some kind of horde mode.

You know looking at that one Game, Kings of Wushu, I wouldn't have minded if They made the multiplayer into a MOBA game.

You shouldn't be. For all of Nintendo's drawbacks, one thing they don't mess up too often (it does happen, just not often) is their premiere franchises. Zelda's dynasty warriors game is going to be a more than competent dynasty warriors game. Shallow and repetitive as ****? of course it's going to be that. Anyone pretending those games aren't, isn't well versed in the rest of the genre.

But, the Zelda stuff is going to be used in clever ways and adds new wrinkles. Midna dropping Majora's Moon, because **** it for instance is awesome. It's a game that should at the least be fun on a very basic level even if the overall experience will be an average hack n slash that relies more on its target dummy headcount than actual genuine satisfaction in gameplay.

No way this will be a GOTY contender, but I'm interested in playing it anyway.

I'm interested in giving it a go buy GOTY? No chance. I predict a 7.0 at most.

Wait, is Ghirahim a playable character? I may have to find a way to play this after all, if so. I've been praying Sakurai will announce him as a Smash Bros. character, but if not, then this will do just fine.

Also: LOL at anyone thinking this will be a GOTY candidate. In fact, I'd be pleasantly surprised if it even nabbed a 6.0 on GameSpot.

You can play as the bad guys in other DW games, would be shocked if it doesn't hold the same for this one.

I don't see this game getting anything below an 8.

That's not saying much. Skyward Sword's combat is a fucking novelty. Slightly interesting that it works 1:1, but fucking pitiful in terms of actually being satisfying or entertaining in combat.

No way will HW be the better game. Sorry. There's just now way. Platinum Games is king of the hack n slash genre. Kings.

Combat isn't close to being bad, & zelda has never been about the combat. That might all change with the new Zelda U, hope they don't make it a trash game like skyrim or witcher.

There will be a Nintendo Maintenance scheduled today before the hyrule warriors direct. Maybe they will give us a demo like they did with Wonderful 101.
