Rumble adds a lot to the gaming experience. I appreciate both the DualShock 4 and X1 controller for this. But how do people who use keyboard and mouse cope without it? I can't imagine playing a sports game without feeling the hits or playing an FPS and not feel that explosion nearby. Imagine MGS 5 without rumble? Just wouldn't feel the same to me.

I turn off rumble as the first thing in every game where I use a controller.

I don't even notice rumble anymore, unless I'm quickly checking something on my computer, forgot to pause, and have the controller in my crotch buzzing me to an orgasm.

..

You're right. KB/M peeps are missing out.

Can't say I miss it. Hasn't really been an issue or even a thought about missing it since I switched to pc. I still use a controller for some but mainly rumble is just an extra i don't really care about. It's on par with the tiny speaker on the ps4 controller. Rarely implemented right and often more anoying thenanything else.

Explosion in the game renders a rumble on a gamepad that is in my hand. Dat gaming experience.

Rumble was a big deal 15 years ago, but now I don't even notice if it's there or not. For the PC, I remember joysticks started to implement it back around '98.

Only games where I would miss rumble are racing games and obviously I don't play those with a KB&M so I have no problems.

For most of my single player games I use a controller. But honestly it's not really that big an issue. I barely notice rumble once I'm in a game

I fail to see how shitty rumble conveys this. I much prefer the deep thuddy bass from my surround sound speakers if I want this effect. I never liked rumble, and I think the 360 controller supports rumble anyways. As for FPSs, the accuracy of the mouse more than makes up for not having some crappy shaking sensation.

These threads lately have been cows scraping at the bottom of the barrel.

I can foresee this happening: "How can PC gamers cope w/o blu-ray?"

If your PC is that loud and vibrating, you've got bigger problems than worrying about a controller rumbling.

fps game ar far more realistic with a mouse to aim, thats because you aim with your arm and not your tumb, you have much more precision and aim with the same moviment as in real life, wanna try? just install a free fps game on your laptop (a very light one will run on anything) than try to play the same game with a joystick after that

They just do because it's always been a "immersion" gimmick and gets in the way when it comes to competitive gaming.

I have a 360 controller that I use when I play racing games, not so much for the vibration (though the vibration is nice and adds a bit immersion) but mostly because racers are much better with analog steering. A racing wheel would of course be even better but I don't play enough racing games to warrant buying one.

I too turn off rumble.

You don't really need something cheap and silly like rumble, when your whole room "rumbles" properly thanks to decent bass.

I'm not taking sides here but if it is part of the game it is part of the game. That mentality is like being in a fighting game tournament and telling the crowd to be quiet. All players got to deal with it.
