Seriously I don't get it if the Wii U can do 1080p the X1 should have no problem as it's much stronger on paper. Sure the PS 4 is more powerful so you can say it can do 1080p while the X1 can't but the Xbox One is the middle man it makes no sense the Wii U can Rock 1080p while the X1 is still struggling.......

What gave you the idea that the Wii U is frequently able to achieve 1080p? Wii U retail titles with native 1080p resolution include Monster Hunter 4, Wind Waker HD, and Rayman Legends.

You realize the comparison is pointless unless you are comparing the exact same game...right?

Running Mario at 1080p requires far less power than running Battlefield 4 at 1080p, or 720p, or hell, probably even 480p.

Resolution is only one of numerous variables which effect the demand a game puts on hardware.

I still don't know why people haven't figured this out yet. Not to mention that it runs at 60FPS in both multiplayer and singleplayer.

Xbone games at 720p look better than wii u games at 1080p so what is the point of this thread? Put it this way the wii u couldn't run ryse at 720p let alone 900p. Not saying anyone with a wii u is jealous of not being able to "play" ryse or anything lol.

anything can be at 1080p, as long as its not a graphical power house.

If a game has beefed up graphics (and animations, and physics, etc.) 1080p will have a tough time finding a sweet spot.

Thank you.

Why is this still so hard for people to understand? RESOLUTION IS NOT THE ONLY THING CONTRIBUTING TO A GAME'S GRAPHICAL PRESENTATION. When there are less effects, particles, shaders, and high-res textures being used, increasing resolution requires less power. My laptop can play Pong at 4K. Does that mean it's more powerful than a desktop that plays Battlefield 4 at 1080p, but loses a few frames jumping to 1440p? Obviously not. It means that Pong has far less graphical wizardry going on, and can therefore be pushed to higher resolutions without as much power. Which is exactly why the Wii U can play a Gamecube-era Zelda remake at 1080p, and there are a few PS4/X1 games that are still at 720p.

Do you see, TC?

DO YOU SEE?

It's because those games aren't so demanding. If they were, they'd do 720p upscaled.

Any console can do 1080p even the Xbox 360. All you need to do is sacrifice something to get it. The wii u graphics isn't all that to talk about.

Wii U games mostly look like shit, while X1 games aren't optimized yet. Also, X1 is less powerful than expected.

That's because X1 is too busy trying to be an all-encompassing, voice-activated toaster/ water pick / blood sugar tester / stool sample gatherer / inflatable love doll inflator, rather than being a straight-up gaming device.

BTW...the Wii U....graphics in 1080pee.

Mario isn't even 1080P... lol... no one can even tell, I don't know why people argue so much.

Huh? You really need to understand how this works, rather than jumping right to the criticizing.

On games with less graphics the wiiU can do 1080p, but add in modern day effects and higher polygon everything and the wiiU would struggle. It couldn't run BF4 or AC4 with all settings to max at 1080p like PS4 can or even at 720p/900p like x1 can.

The Xbox One can do 1080p, hell, the 360 can too.

Where did this "the Xbox One can't do 1080" nonsense come from?

I have an eas great answer. The Wii U is doing the graphics of PS3 and 360. It's a little more powerful than those two so it can handle doing the same games in 1080P.

PS4 and X1 are doing a new level of graphics. I'm thinking developers just haven't gotten used to using the eSRAM to do better resolutions, or it's just slightly weaker. No matter. I'm sure if I ever end up getting ONE I probably won't notice.

wiiu just like the Ps4 is built for gamers by gamers. Xbone is built by business men for non-gamers.
