Ive neer played hitman, but ive heard its an amazing franchise. A game that makes u an assassin more than any other game, where u can get creative and choose fun ways to finish ur missions. Its an old famous franchise, heck even got its own movie, and now kts getting a pretty great looking sequel, Hitman Absoluion. I remember gamespot even gave alot of love for it when it was revealed. But its not hard to notice the hype is definitely not there now, it seems like a game now that when it is released tons of people wont even know its out. Online, its rarely mentioned in hype threads for this xmas. Magazines ive read ignore hitman when mentioning this seasons big hitters. Best buy didnt even include it in its list of coming big xmas games, perhaps cus the preordering demand simply isnt there So what the heck happened guys? How did a game, so heavily praised by critics when unveiled plus being a sequel to such a loved franchise, end up having less hype than almost any other game for this xmas?
I have it pre ordered, and there is hype everywhere, there's just more talk surrounding other high profile titles as well. Games like Assassin's Creed III and Resident Evil 6's recent bombfest and all.
Plus it didn't start out great, the first level we saw was (I assume) the tutorial level where players didn't see any of the classic open sandbox Hitman stuff and without David Bateson on board at the time people kind of hated it until this year where they got David Bateson back and started showing off all the amazing levels and stuff.
Loved the past Hitman games. The changes they made in the new one I'm kind of skeptical on how it will turn out. Just going to wait on the reviews and how well it is received by other gamers before deciding on the purchase.
I wonder how much it will be during black friday...

It was as low as $33 on Greenmangaming for PC, so I'm really excited to see if anything like that happens on black friday for the digital version. Or I could just buy it now for $33, honestly its better then the $60 version I'd get at Gamestop.
im sure it will do fine in sales. it had some really bad early showings but then IO marketing shaped up. however, the hitman games live on their level design and that can be really hard to demonstrate without giving away large chunks of the game.
