Now every console has its own distinct line ups. Now could a gamer live with only a Wii/360/PS3/PC?

Wii has a very varied line up of games which span over many genres and majority of these games are exclusive but it does not get the Multi-plats of the other 3 and if it does the Multi-Plats are normally inferior.

PS3/360 have similar line ups with both Multi-plats and Exclusives (Halo = KZ, Forza = GT.....) but can they both be a stand alone console? Be missing out on the exclusives of Wii/PC which neither have similar franchises too.

PC pretty muchhas alot of the games of PS3/360 and a wider variety than any of 3 in exclusives but can a PC owner do without any of the 3 exclusive games?

Should i add DS/PSP to the equation? Both of those make good secondry consoles.

I've managed to survive with only one console each generation. One is more than enough to keep me busy during the free time i have.

I don't have any consoles this gen, and I play on my PC for 15 minutes a week, max. It's not that hard.

I only have a Wii and I'm fine with it. I think that I don't have enough time to juggle another console, when there are actually a lot of games on Wii that I missed out on.

If you want to have access to all of the best games, no. If you're a casual gamer, sure. I played primarily on the 360 for a good long time (as far as consoles go... I've always been a PC gamer as well) until I got a 1080p TV and decided to finally play MGS4 so I picked up a PS3. But looking back, this time around, I probably would've been fine with just the 360.

um i guess it depends how much you play games lol. and depends on what people like, for me personally at this point i dont see how you could just have a wii alone, but others can so yeah, but i think you could live off a PS3 or 360 only if you had too. but luckily for me i have a Wii/PS3/PC/DS/PSP =D

I am a one console gamer if you don't count my PS2 and Gamecube from last gen. The only console I want to go with my PC is a PS3.

I have a 360/PC/DS. My PC isn't very high tech so I can only play low demanding games (Team Fortress 2 FTW). I have a Wii but it is listed on ebay right now. Anybody interested in a Nintendo Wii + Super Mario Galaxy + Super Smash Bros. Brawl + Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess + Wii Classic Controller + 2 VC games, let me know!

...(I'm not advertising)...

hehe nope... I always made sure that I had (or had access) to any of the consoles of a generation, I hardly care about the platforms they are out on, just the games themselves...

To damn expensive to own all 3 consoles, plus not enough free time tbh. Have to save up for the future on other things, because I'm sure we don't wanna live with are parents for ever... do we?

Absolutely you can. Its called budgeting. Its called common. Do you really think the majority of the gamers out there own multiple consoles? Remember, SW is not like the rest of the world. People here are far more into games than the majority of the public...... I normally do one console per gen. I try to pick the console that will give me the best experience for all of the gamers that come into my home. I want the "hardcore" titles as well as the "casual" titles. This gen the best fit for me was the PS3. I also rent 99.9% of the games I play. I don't have the money to build a collection I will never play. Nor do I need to add another consoles titles that I will never be able to play all of. Other than 2007 the bulk of 2007, PS3 has kept me very busy gaming.

TO be honest proboly. Even though 360 and wii has some games I want I could be fine with just a PS3. The fact that you added psp makes it more hard since I do like my psp espiaclly for PS1 classic use.

Got the wii and ps3.

THe wii was good until i got all the games i was interested in. The ps3 got me through almost6 months of wii games that i had no intent of buying.

I guess it depends on the person but this gen i could not have lasted with just the wii. Way too many good games this gen would of been missed out on.

I used to have 2 or more consoles every gen (Nes/MasterSystem; Megadrive/Snes; PSX/N64 and Dreamcast/PS2/Xbox). This gen i only have time for 1 system. 360 is more than enough to me

YES! Being a college student, money is tight.( Gets tighter and tighter every year) I have been a one console owner for thepast 4 gaming gens. Got the 360 when it came out, got bored with it, and finally bought a PS3, haven't regretted it and probably will never regret it. ALTHOUGH, i might be getting a PSP considering I use to have one at launch but sold it due to the lack of games, but now there are a bunch of games I want to play on it.

For me, owning more than one system would be toooo expensive for me. It's not that I can't afford it, its just that I have other things I have to pay for and I guess you could say I wouldn't be able to keep up with gaming. Just a combo of a PS3 and PSP is perfect for me.

I can easily survive with only a PC, but only having a console would be extremely difficult. Hell, being a console-only gamer would still be hard given the types of games that I enjoy.

I have a Wii and a DS because first of all I don't have money to support another console since games and systems are so expensive here where I live and second because I would have no time to fully enjoy the library of three or four systems.

So I say it is possible.

Well, I'm doing fine with just a PS3, and I did fine last gen with only a PS2. It's very possible, especially if you have other hobbies(I know I do). But could you go the gen without a PC of any kind? NO!:P

I was an exclusive PC gamer for many, many years. I only recently became interested in consoles because keeping my PC up to date was starting to become prohibitively expensive. So right now I have an outdated PC (but still more than capable of playing the awesome Fallout 3), a Nintendo Wii, and a Nintendo DS. That's more than enough to scratch my gamer's itch.

This. Last gen was the first time I ever owned two consoles. Even then, I didn't get a gamecube until like a year and a half ago so that doesn't really count imo.

Yeah, it's not that hard if the console has enough good games. Frankly, I don't have time to keep up with the games on a single console - the really good games are ones that you're still getting something out of months to years later, and as it stands, I find I have plenty of games that are really good in precisely this way in my life. I think I'm averaging six games a year these days.

i consider myself to only have PS3/PC for gaming, even though i technically own a Wii that sits there, and might get played once every half year.
