Has Your City Ever Been Recreated In Videogames?

theres barely any games set in my entire continent.

in I'm New York City, so yea there have dozens of games set here before most recently crysis 2 and 3. In fact if your American there is a good chance your city bas been replicated in a game before. I feel it's getting oversaturated and I would like to see more games set in different parts if the world. Were just too popular for our own good as the world loves us.

I think the only open world game really set in a UK city was the Getaway, which was supposedly a pretty accurate recreation. ZombiU was set in London too, I can't speak for them getting locations right but they certainly got the drab shitty weather spot on.

EDIT: Not that I'm actually from London but like Nameless I live somewhere small, in a village actually so there's zero chance of it ever being in a game.

Fallout 3 was the post apocalytic version of where I live (Greater DC area).

There was a location in the game called "Montgomery County Reservoir", which is the same county I live in (also the location of Zenimax/Bethesda Studios)

No, not even close. I live in a small town, and seeing it appear in some video game would be a miracle.

@Lulu_Lulu: cool I was there for the last world cup is a beautiful country. There should be more games from the continent like an assassins creed in ancient Egypt would be cool. It also doesn't help that there aren't many big name developers of publishers from Africa.

yup. still living in Chicago myself, and FYI.. Chicago has been in a couple dozen games outside of watch dogs.

In a way I guess. Red Dead Redemption's locale seems to have been based off the state I live in (Arizona).

So yes, many, many times. I think GTA IV's Liberty City is the most faithful so far.

Not from LA but southern CA, and I frequent LA as my gf and sister live there. I was blown away with how accurate Los Santos was. GTAV pretty much nailed it as a mini version of LA.. Aside from the traffic anyway which would have made the game pretty unplayable..

I was born in Seattle and there have been a few games that take place there. Where i live now is pretty small, so it hasn't had anything take place there, but Alan Wake is pretty similar with rural Washington state.

My city, sadly no. I've visited plenty of locations in video games though. One of my favourites being San Gimignano in AC2.

Project Gotham Racing 2 had a set of maps for Chicago.

All of assassins creed 3 was in and around my home. Scary how well they did with it... Scarier that they forgot how to make an assassins creed game in the process however. Still big ups to the best new england featured in a video game ever...

Indeed it has! I live in Sao Paulo, and for some reason it, along with Rio de Janeiro, has started to feature somewhat prominently in gaming. As to S. Paulo's case, it appears in Max Payne 3 extensively, and features in AC III. I found the depiction of S. Paulo in Max Payne 3 to be funny, although they did mess up when they picked Portuguese VAs to voice the more important secondary characters. AC III... I can tell you I've never seen ring girls walking in bikinis in the subways of my city, neither are there wrestling matches there.

LA Noire, and satirically GTA V's depiction of LA, I even recognized Pershing Square as I had to go to immigration court just the other week and the building for that is right next to Pershing Square in LA, and they look alike.
