Has anybody played Sonic Boom out of morbid curiosity?

If so, just how bad is it? I honestly looks worse than Sonic 06 IMO. (Lost World looks okay tho).

I love playing bad games, but I just don't wanna play the bad Sonic ones.

I played as Sonic in Smash Bros U today... so that's something...

But nah, I've never been a real big fan of Sonic games. I like the character and the world, and Sonic Adventure was pretty great but I was just never a fan of the actual games. :P

I played the demo on the 3ds. Was actually a lot of fun. I liked how you can change characters and they all have their own special abilities. Although when you have such low expectations it can make something appear better.

I would say it's much better than sonic 06. Not sure any developers can make a worse game than that ever.

I would never support that horseshit by throwing money at it.

Just want to point out that I was talking about the Wii U version. I bet the 3DS version is not as bad.

Sadly, I think the Sonic series is basically dead. I grew up on his 16 bit classics and loved them. Sonic was my favorite series on Genesis, Sega CD and Game Gear.

Every Sonic game since the death of the Dreamcast has been absolute crap with the exception of Generations which was a massive step in the right direction. It seems the step was the last decent one in the series though.

I don't have a Wii-U or 3DS but if they were making a Sonic Aiimbio, I'd buy it with Mario and Link for my nerd shelf.

While it wasn't as good as Generations, Colors was quite good as well. Honestly, I thought both of them were much better than the Adventure games.

Watched part of Brain Scratch Comms' playthrough of it. I saw all I needed to see.

Well, I hear Colors was good (I really need to get that), and Heroes wasn't bad either (as long as you didn't get the PS2 version, anyway). Other than that though, yeah, it's been kinda a crapshoot, although I didn't totally hate Shadow the Hedgehog like most people did.

I played the Wii U demo at Best Buy a few days ago, it was atrocious.

I avoid playing truly bad games like the plague.

But playing it alone would be torture. I think you should only play this if you have an audience (a friend or sumthin), that will make it fun.

Downloaded and played both the Sonic: Lost World and Sonic Boom: Rise of Lyric demos.

Lost World felt really off and wonky but it didn't seem too bad. As much as it apes the Super Mario Galaxy games, it doesn't seem to understand what made those tick. I like its visual style tho.

Sonic Boom was a disaster. The controls were atrocious, the combat was mind numbing, the visual style was generic and amateurish (much too shiny looking if you know what I mean), and everything about it felt wrong. It was a very depressing experience. I kind of liked the banter between characters tho.

Ditto. It's just more broken Sonic garbage. Funny to watch other play it and suffer on the bus to work, not going to waste my time on it though. Too many good games out there!

I dabbled in the 3DS demo for all of about a few minutes before deleting it. I just told myself if I need a Sonic fix I'll go back and play Sonic Colors.
