Halo Spartan Assault gamespot review..

ith Halo: Spartan Assault, Microsoft can say that the Xbox One managed to have a Halo game out during the launch window. The bad news is that it's not Halo 5 or even another HD anniversary edition. Yet it's still a Halo game, which means it has a wealth of Covenant grunts to murder with your trusty needler. Spartan Assault reimagines Halo as a twin-stick shooter, delivering on much of the genre's arcade allure. However, the transition from mobile to consoles has brought with it a bevy of microtransactions, for better or worse. Mostly worse.

Lol this is the first I heard of the game and being on mobile I wouldn't even count it in any arguments for or against Halo or the developers.

I'll bet this will be M$ first FREE game for the XBox One to start the free games for Gold members. I'd wait on this. The microtransaction aren't even needed. You can beat the game without paying any additional $$. The campaign is a bit short. They should have made the game a few hours longer.

I've never said anything about this game except I'd check it out if it was good. I don't think anyone was expecting much from a IoS mobile game. The PS4 doesn't have much. Two Exclusive FLOPS so far. One decent Indie game.

It's a phone game ported to a console. have you ever played a phone game before? Microtransctions are the only way to make money because no one is buying a $20 download in most cases.

Yes I have played phone games, the whole point of using microtransactions is that it allows them to offer the game for free and then they earn their money through the microtransactions. If a game costs money to play you expect to simply be able to play the game and not have to worry about them trying to grab money from you whenever possible.

That's what I'm saying. Was anyone really expecting an 8 or 9 for this game? I wasn't. I was actually hoping for an improved Halo Wars game to be honest. I would love them to take Halo into a different genre.

I bought it, it's not bad and you dont have to purchase anything to beat the game. Was hoping to play some coop with some people.

So a quick conversion of a mobile game (with an indie price) scores better than good old Knack, a full launch release.
