Pure technical stuff? no. That art direction was so much better, Bungie's art team in general is better than the one at 343. There something too overkill about how 343 looks at halo. The colors are really thick and dark, which doesn't work as well for Halo given the skittles colored nature of everything. There is an over reliance on fore runner spaces, and all that shit is the same blend of cold metal over and over again that gets tiring to look at. Not that Bungie didn't make repetitive environments, but they were at least aesthetically easier on the eyes. Also I really can't put my finger on it, but something about the UNSC centric areas aren't exactly to my liking either, but at that point I chalk that up to I just don't like 343's love affair with the extended universe.
That said 343's latest Halo is 60 faps, and that is a god send to the only thing about Halo I give a **** about: multiplayer.
