The game feels way too dated to ever become fresh in a first person perspective. Think Mass effect/gears of war with its own core gameplay. ALSO more custimizations and weapon variety..to that of COD. Yes i know this might seem stupid for the majority but i think if done right Halo can have its own fresh reboot...if you want to call it that. I just want something different while using the whole HALO universe.....thoughts?

Also don't forget we had halo wars in terms of perspective...

I just wish it were more gritty--but If it were gritty the way that I would like it, it would be Gears of War-ish. So yea--I've played the Halo 5 Beta and I pretty much hate it. But I can see how a fan of Halo would love it. Just not my type of game.

I wouldn't mind seeing a spin-off series in the Halo universe set in third-person. But even as technology and gameplay evolves Halo has continued to feel like Halo. I feel that a jump to third-person for main entries would lose that identity.

And what if it works?

Spin off would work....I understand the identity loss...so a spin off could be the bases and see if it succeeds, etc.

Halo started as a 3rd person shooter right? I remember reading that somewhere.

It might have if i recall...but the game now anyway has 3rd person elements with driving/flying and using a turrent weapon, etc.

I've always looked at halo as a less impressive version of Tribes, futuristic combat done on a much smaller scale with vehicle based warfare.

Except Starsiege Tribes was infinitely more fun and rewarding and also offered a 3rd person option.

I'm willing to give it a try.

I'm all for great games, so if Halo was made that way and the end product was great, I'm down. I own all the Halos.

Given a major appeal of the game is the online MP I don't think there's any reason to change things. If you want a third person shooter get another game.

Wasn't there a rumor that Halo 5 would be an open-world game? Not sure if it was going to be first or third person. But an open-world Halo game could be very cool

ODST2: except this time actually make it a squad based shooter, where the ODST are outmatched by the covenant as opposed to "no it's just Halo" the way ODST ended up being.

3rd person would help balance the shitty FOV that all the games have. I'd be on board with that.
