For online I would too but for singleplayer it doesn't matter too much since it's not really a super fast paced game.

I'd rather it be 720p @ 60 fps. Since getting back into PC gaming, framerate has become a priority over resolution.

Who expected it to be 60fps? It can obviously do 1080p 60fps, but some devs would rather make it 30fps and fit in more effects.

The PS3 was going to be capable of dual 1080p @ 120fps in 4D... and we got ~720p @ 20-30fps in 3D. The only reliable way to get 1080p@60fps or better is to buy a PC.

I agree and disagree with what you're saying. I'd say it like this:

The hardware has limitations. The devs must work within those limitations. Devs can make choices for example sacrifice shadow quality or effects for higher frame rates.

- only using 4.5 gb of memory

- alpha build deliberatedly locked to 30 fps

for these reasons, the current killzone shadowfall demo is by no means an indication of the PS4's capabilities or shadowfall as a finished product.

Well obviously it's down to the developer, but if they were to choose 60fps the graphics would have to be cut back. Guerrilla can't just be like "With this switch, we can make the game be constant 60fps and the graphics won't change at all! But we won't do that because 30fps offers a more cinematic experience"

Of course it's a compromise, that's the developers choice and it's the same choice they have been making for years, but for some reason people still use frame rates as a point of comparison for hardware. Both the Xbox One and the PS4 are capable of 1080p and 60fps in any given game, it's entirely down to the priorities of the developers. Wipeout was 1080p and ran at 60fps on the PS3, that doesn't mean that the PS3 is more powerful than the PS4. I know it's stating the obvious but many people genuinely don't seem to grasp that.

Wasn't expecting 1080p/60 on next gen consoles. My TV can only do 1080i anyway, which is limited to 30fps.

Nothing new. Console devs will always aim to make their games look pretty no matter how powerful the system is. That is because pretty graphics sell. You barely hear reviewers talk hype about fps, but they will go on, and on about how gorgeous a game looks.

Guerilla said that awhile back. They are basically still learning the system and are still pushing it as hard as they can so they've decided on a nice stable 30 fps. Makes sense. 

Not like 60 fps would radically improve the feel of a Killzone game.
