GTAV sold more on PS3....How things have changed...

Remember the days where Lems said that half the ppl who bought the PS3 only bought it because of the Blu-ray? And how all multiplat games sold more on the 360?

Now we keep seeing recent games selling more on the PS3. Which only strengthens the rumor that the PS3 has outsold the 360 worldwide.

I cant imagine the level of destruction the PS4 will lay upon the Xbone.

PS3 GTAV - 11.34 Million

360 GTAV - 11.29 Million

360 GTAIV - 10.47 Million

PS3 GTAIV - 9.89 Million

How impressive are the GTAV sale numbers though? Outsold GTAIV in less then a month. And people thought COD Ghost would still win in sales...

Who cares.. and VGChartz is a terrible place to get reliable info. No one actually cares if ps3 sold 200 copies more than the 360 or vice versa. Go play the game and enjoy instead of making lame topics.

Vgcharts is best used to see what to expect in term of sales. The numbers are off buy never by much. You call it laughable source without showing proof on why its laughable. Your just following a trend that other users have started about the website.

It's been run over countless times, on this board alone. Furthermore, the Staff account even stated that if you use VGChartz, expect a "lolVGChartz" response.

That being said, burden of proof is still on you. You need viable sources, sunshine.

So, here we have VGChartz listing a 50K difference. Since this is only a rough estimate, things could really go either way, no real information here.

lol @ fanboys, It's a 0.05 difference. No analyst in the world would consider that significant enough to put a theory behind it. They'd call that pretty even.

Lolchartz has been proven time and time again to be off as far as 100 % , there's a reason you get perma banned for using them on Neogaf .

Once official numbers are out they correct them and that's usually by a big margin .

Do a search on their freaked numbers yourself , everytime a noob uses them they want proof over and over again...please no more - get educated .

Probably because of the (timed) exclusive DLC the 360 version had.

GTA was always seen as a big playstation franchise despite not being exclusive. Just compare sales of San Andreas between Xbox and PS2. All the cows who said MS securing the GTAIV DLC first as a waste of money have been owned, because MS was effectively stealing the game from playstation with a day one launch, and it managed to sell more.

This, nobody cares for NPD numbers. The only numbers that count are the worldwide numbers.

...And we all know who will win there.

Amazing how things have changed....7 years later. Better late than never.

Well, a few things:

1. Everything is on a single PS3 Blu-Ray disc.

2. GTA Online on the PS3 is 100% free. No Online Subscription service needed.

3. Rockstar finally figured out the PS3's CELL CPU and GTA5 performs better on it than on the Xbox 360. Less pop-in, more stable FPS.

Pretty much a no-brainer. The PS3 version is better all-around.
