Would you really not mind forking out 86 dollars for it? Such is the price for it in Europe. Needless to say I was insane with rage when I saw it.

70 euros is always the standart price. Nothing Murica has to worry about. We europeans are used to it at this point.
Thank you PC sites like G2A, for proper currency convertions
Ekhm, I don't know, Alien Isolation costed that much but in its limited edition, regular one costed as much as in America.
@Salt_The_Fries: well it averages out considering you guys in the EU typically have higher salaries and higher expenses compared to US

I refuse to pay more than $60
€70. Standard price here.
Americans need to realise we don't get paid in dollars and that due to the fact the Euro is worth more than the US Dollar, conversions inherently make things seems a lot more expensive in dollars.
It's the standard price.
A very different issue is: should remakes/ports/hd upgrades be priced as full blown new games? IMO, no they shouldn't. 50€/$ would be the "ideal" price for them.
Ha! The Euro. What a fucking waste of time that is. Besides, straight currency to currency conversions are moot because they don't take into account taxes. In England, we pay 20% Tax on everything expect baby clothes and food. The usual price of a PS3 game is £40. Now lets see what that looks like without the 20% VAT. 20% of £40 is £8 so take off £8 from £40 and you get £32. Now lets do a comparison with the US pricing. $60 in Sterling is as of this post, is £37.51. So we have a straight conversion which is almost normal price for us English however lets add back on that £8. £40 to USD is $63 which is not actually that different thanks in part to the fucking joke that is the US dollar.
Im pretty sure its just gonna be $50.
Even at $50... its a little high for a game we have all played already.
I already own the game for ps3 but i will not buy it again for that price. Will get it again at some point tho
Why are you surprised? It's a console game.
Go for PC if you want a cheaper GTA 5. On top of that, you'll get better experience.
Yeah we all know how "good" the GTA IV port was ...lol
I don't plan on buing it for $60. It's not for me, though. It's for ppl who waited for a next gen console release and lets be honest....we all knew it was going to happen.
That said...I wouldn't mind playing it again....for like $30.
Probably will buy it used at some point.

It still looked and ran better than the consoles even on my medicore rig when it was released.
Bitch more.
You live in an economically better place than the US and pay more for all your goods. The idea that everything should have price parity around the world is hilariously asinine.
What's the average income in the country you live in? I guarantee it's probably twice that of the US.
It wasn't good enough to buy twice, hell just buying it once was enough for me to regret doing so. The game world was too big and not enough to do to fill out the landscape, they'd needed to have tripled the amount of content in the game to make it feel worth it.

thats the funny thing that people don't get. An unpatched copy of GTA IV with the hardware of the time looks and runs better at lowest settings than the console version

Consider yourself lucky mate. In Croatia we pay 25% tax on everything too, except with our average paycheck (around €700) games can be super mega expensive. Thankfully there's digital distribution, Steam sales, Amazon and The Game Collection...

Minimum wage for England is £6.71 or something.
Typical ignorant Murican, phewww.
Seriously though, do you really care that a gallon of milk is $10 in Hawaii? Why is it We Americans are typically ignorant when our hearts don't bleed for you guys?

That's outrageous. I've never paid more than 60 euro for a console game in my life. And even then I only pay that much on special occasions, because I'm used to buying PC versions for 50 euro or cheaper.
But I have noticed that Xbone and PS4 games are more expensive than PS3/360/WiiU games... I don't own a PS4 or Xbone yet so I haven't looked into it that much. I've paid 40-50 euro for Wii U games.
Noticed the price for GTA V on game manias site is 70 euro too. But I'm sure if you look around different stores (I usually find better prices in media markt) you could find a copy for 65-60.
I've also noticed some PC games have also jacked up the price to 60 euro... for no reason. There are no royaltee fees there so it's just companies feeling like they can charge more out of the blue. I just look around for a better price then. And if I can't find it, I'll wait for a price drop. Not paying 60 for PC games. Not paying 70 for console games.
You ?

Best selling GTA game of all time if I'm correct. Doubt many people waited for a next gen console release.
But what I don't doubt is that many people will be rebuying it.
Looking forward to this game on Steam with a heavy discount on a Steam sale. Come on lets face it. You wanted convenient consoles, pay convenient console game prices.
I already own the game for ps3 but i will not buy it again for that price. Will get it again at some point tho

No it doesn't. GTA 4 is not lowest settings on 360/PS3. It's highest settings in some areas in fact. Only the draw distance is reduced quite a lot. That's what slows the bigger PC's down the most actually.
What? No.
Consoles had between low to medium textures. After shadows were fixed on PC, consoles are either low or medium. They also lack night shadows. Water is also around low-medium. Pedestrians and traffic were also really low in the slider around 20-30.

No way. Going back from GTA IV on PC at highest settings, unmodded, to the console version is a HUGE difference.
It's not even close and the PS3 version doesn't run that well anyway. In fact the 360 version sinks in FPS too when there is so much going on on screen.
The difference is huge. Mods only make the gap even wider.

This post is correct. Rockstar even said the PC versions low-medium settings are what GTA IV uses on consoles.
I'm too tired to look up the quote but it's out there on the internet :P

You ?
You see many multiplats reaching £39.99 on Steam on launch. Its not long before they drop to the usual £29.99 though.
