Grand Theft Auto V and The Last of Us Dominate Metacritic in 2013, One PS4 Game in top 20, None for Xbox One

With the end of the year drawing near, the top 20 for Metacritic scores is basically set in stone, and it’s time to give a look at what games came on top according to the critics selected by the popular (and often controversial when abused) score aggregation portal.

Here’s the compiled top 20 between all the titles published this year, that very conveniently includes all the titles that scored with a Metacritic average of 90 and over. When you don’t see a platform listed for a game, its because that particular version scored under 90.

Looks like a pretty good list of games. Besides that I don't really think any conclusions can be drawn from this list.

Skylanders is a great game for kids. I'm not going to pretend I know a lot about it, but a 92 on Metacritic is great. Anyway, my point still stands; you have refuted nothing. Somehow, PS3 has an equal amount of games on Metacritic than the the Wii U. The WII U. The WII U! Not to mention, only 1 is exclusive and all 3 are Wii U exclusives. Pretty sad, really.

PS3 has the top rated exclusive of the year. Wiiu has kids games and Gamecube remakes LOL.

@AtariKidX: Last i checked, this is Gamespot and not Metacritics. You want to post Metacritics scores, go and post them on Metacritic forum.

Playstation 3 has the top-rated exclusive, by ONE point. The second best exclusive is Super Mario 3D World. Nintendo games are for everyone, not just children. If you cannot understand that, then you probably are not mature enough to be playing a game like the Last of Us. Also the Wii-U has one GameCube re-master (learn the difference between re-release, re-master, and re-make), The Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker which was not only an amazing title when it released and one Game of the Year at GameSpot, but is still an amazing game and it's artstyle has only been given a second life in high-definition. Wind Waker HD is one of the most visually pleasing games I've seen from the previous generation consoles (Xbox 360, Wii, and Playstation 3), and the current generation consoles.

Dude did you not realize I wasnt responding to the op but to Charizard who was pointing out the absence of xbone and PS 4 on the list? Whats your source for Wiiu's highest rated game last year? Gamerankings has Black Ops 2 as Wiiu's number 1 game for 2013 at 86.07 average.

Metacritic has NSMBU at an 84, BO2 for WiiU at an 81, also gamespot gave mario an 8.5 and blops an 8.

I do realize that, and I'm confused why you rag on charizard instead of TC. WiiU is 1 year older than PS4, PS3 is 6 years older than WiiU, of course PS3 is the superior console to WiiU.
