Grid Autosport Announced

GRID Autosport aims to move the series back in line as a more authentic racing game

Here is the announcement trailer:

GRID Autosport launches on June 27th on PC, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.

No word on PS4 or Xbone versions.

Here is some info about what can be expected from this game

- Cockpit view is back (2 in fact)

- Learned from the mistakes of GRID 2, will be more like GRID 1

- PC version will have 4K textures

- More circuits than GRID 1+2 combined

Theres also no word on cockpit camera. It would be a real shame if the spent all this time reworking this game and don't even put this in because I sure as hell won't pay for it if they don't add it. No matter how much fun it is, and it really does sound like fun ! :D oh well...

GRiD seemed like they would go for a next gen version right away

Reading their blog, it really seems like they listened to community feedback on Grid 2.

Seems like this game will be more like GRID 1 in a lot of ways, which is great. Though I very much enjoyed GRID 2 as well

Yeah, it's weird. I found that GRID 2 looked amazing on PC and was actually expecting them to release it on PS4 and Xbone as well. Similar to Tomb Raider releasing what was pretty much the PC version on those consoles

Now they have another chance to release a next gen version along the other versions and they don't do it.

Still need to contact Sony about accidentally downloading Grid 2's trial instead of the game for PS+

To Commemerate this wonderfull achievement, they should make a Cockpit Trailler ! Showing off how cool it is to have 80% of your field of view obstructed by the Dashboard and Wheel. Now that would be Sweet ! :D

Awesome news. Grid 2 was solid and fun, but not on the same level as the original Grid.

Hmmm, I'm sure they focus on the cockpit mode in future footage/trailers. I don't think it would be a good idea to do it as a launch trailer. Launch trailers mostly show off cars and locations :P

Nice ! Grid 1&2 were real lookers on PC. I'm hoping for this one to look spectacular as well.

Yes, for me Grid 2 is an 8/10 game, but the original GRID is still the best, easily one of my favourite racing games. I'm glad they are making changes to make this GRID more like the first one.

This is the pc version? cause it doesn't look very impressive.

I'm glad I held out for so long.... I was actually planning on caving in and eventually getting this but my patience has been rewarded. And that was just me (I'm such a narcissist) imagine if more people did this everytime a game doesn't live up to the hype !

Codemasters did a Survey about GRID 2 Last Year.... Anybody here fill it out ?

Well, the screenshots look nice, but it's hard to really tell because of all the blur. But I'm pretty sure they've shown of the PC version in the trailer and screenshots, yes

Well, GRID 2 goes on sale from time to time on PC, it can be bought really cheap. Go for it, then you don't have to sit around waiting for June :P

Oh nonono ! I did that with DiRT 3 then Bought the Complete Edition. Whats sad is they anounced the complete edition before I purchased the original, I just didn't know ! :(

Samething Happened when I purchased Dead Or Alive 5 and NUNS 3, they anounced complete editions literally 24 hours after I got the Original !.... Well I say no more ! From now on.... I will wait ! Even if theres no anouncement, I will wait until they make one, because you just never know....

Unlike 'GDDR5' and other marketing nonsense this actually means something. It's the resolution that the textures have. The higher resolution a texture has, the better it looks.

But of course it awaits to be seen how good this game looks exactly. Since the other 2 GRID games always looked great, I'm confident this one will look great too.

Nice to see PC going ahead without being held back by consoles. **** next-gen consoles, PC is all that matters.

Next gen consoles are missing out on some great games like this and Dark Souls II, and if you want the best version, you go for PC.

But I expect by 2015 there will be some interesting exclusives that will make it worth picking up a Xbone or PS4. For now I have enough with WiiU and PC.

Why people hate of Grid 2 so much? What change did it make from 1 beside cockpit camera?

I can't speak for everyone else but I don't even use the cockpit camera, I just like knowing that its there, but if they removed the feature I wouldn't play their game. Welcome Systems Wars..... Where nothing makes sense ! :)

Might think about upgrading my old rig just for this game.

ok we'll see. apart from the f1 games i haven't been too happy with codemasters racing games of late.

i've been playing assetto corsa lately, its incredibly baws.

Might get this for PC. It's a damn shame it's not on 8th gen. Would have made it a no-brainer.

Chase Cam (close) I use to use the Chase Cam (far).

Its important to me because I need to see the car's dimensions and I really can't stand the steering wheel be on the side of the dashboard instead of the middle.

I actually I started using the cockpit camera in DiRT 3, its excellent for most discplines but theres no sat nav in the car and theres no co-driver for other disciplines (I race with no HUD) so sometimes I compensate by using the chase cam.

I wonder how many people can use the cockpit cam in DRifT and Demolition events.... I can't be easy, atleast it wasn't easy in the original GRID.

I love the Dirt and Grid series, and before that the Colin MCrae and Race Driver series.

Never played their F1 games though. I dunno why, I think I would get bored only driving one type of car.

I played the F1 demo on my 360 and the Difficulty curve was steeper than a motherF%+$@R, I think it would be fun with a wheel. I think there was a special edition that featured classic Formula one Cars.

Besides, If you can play an action video game as a single player than you can play F1 with a single car. Atleast thats my logic.

Yeah, but if I played an action game where you only get on weapon class it would be boring to me as well :P

What I mean is, other racers like GRID and DIRT have lots of vehicles classes. F1 only has F1 cars.

What about Codemasters attempt at Karting ? F1 Racestars ? I thought about getting this but I know so little about it... Gamespots Review wasn't very helpfull.

It lacked the feel of GRID one. It lacked the spark. GRID one felt like a sim racer compared to GRID which felt like a very nice looking arcade racer.

Personally, I'm glad Codies are going back to their roots. I remember the days of TOCA. Good times, good times.
