WHO WILL WIN

We had a thread about this minutes ago... and it was about games that no one has played.
Is it hard to wait for another 7 months??? Hell, just wait 6!!!
ME3, Uncharted 3, GeoW3, etc. don't have a shot. They're all going to be incredible but they're nothing new. They're simply refinements on on already established formulas.
No sequels (save for sequels to games from the prior gen) have won Game of the Year here at Gamespot this gen. 2006 was Gears which essentially revolutionized a genre. 2007 was Super Mario Galaxy, this one speaks for itself. 2008 was Metal Gear Solid IV, a sequel yes, but to a last gen game. It upped the ante on all fronts. 2009 was Demons Souls, even over Uncharted 2 which scored higher. 2010 was RDR, essentially a sequel only in name and to a last gen game. It won over SMG2, an AAAA.
Gamespot looks for unique new features and worlds, though you'll find this is true on many other sites. A sequel in a franchise that has already been established at some point this gen won't win, guarantee it. That being said, I'd say L.A. Noire has the best shot as of right now. Game looks to blend open world gaming, storytelling, and story altering decision making in a marvelous way. Easily the most unique game I've seen thus far.

Skyrim.KC_HokieI am going with that or Arkham City. I dont think a shooter or a platforming shooter will win GOTY. So no Gears 3, KZ3, U3, imo. I loved KZ3, look forward to Gears and Uncharted, but I dont think they take home the paper weight.
How do we even know for a fact that any of these games will even score AAA, let alone be GOTY material? How about we wait for the scores first?

You can pretty much guarantee most of them will at least score AAA given the directions they're heading and the success of all their previous titles.
I think ME3 will score GotY given what they say they will improve.
As opposed to what? It has a lot going for it, being the end of that story arc. Believe it or not, there's more to the game than its graphics.Lol at Gears 3 being a main choice...

Critics love rockstar so LA noire probably.
But amongst the fans, Infamous 2 looks like it will be the best game.
