I am already excited and I haven't even finished The Forgotten campaigns yet. Thoughts?

I never thought it was bad nor anything, but for me it was miles away from the greatness that it was Starcraft and Warcraft 2 or 3.

Anyway, it's cool to see new content it's being made for this game, even if i don't think it was that great as some other RTS, the game is a true classic and it has aged pretty well, the core gameplay is still to this day pretty strong.

AoE 2 was one of the best games of all time but Starcraft and Warcraft were in the league of their own. Warcraft 3 Roc and TFT ... played it to death.

Awesome, day 1 for me 8). Would prefer a sequel or even a remake of Rise of Rome but this is the next best thing.

I guess it's cool that a classic is getting support.

But the game is really outdated. It doesnt hold up to the standards of strategy games set by PC games in the last 10 or so years at all. There are plenty of strategy games that i'd rather see an expansion of.

But yeah, an AOE IV with more focus on city-building and combat rather than "Home City" bullshit would be more than welcome. Especially with the AOE III physics engine.

Honestly I would rather just see companies to stop defending IP's they abandoned a decade ago and release the source code to let modders do with it as they wish.. There is no better examples of this than Black Mesa Source or the Freespace 2 Source Code project.. Black Mesa Source, the best remaster/remake to date in giving us the HL1 experience for free with better quality and polish than many professional made games.. Freespace 2 Source Code Project, a project which has taken a game released in around 2000 and has constantly updated the game in graphics, gameplay and content to this day in providing some of the best space sim combat to date..

Meanwhile we have Nintendo clamping down on a guy single level project of a single Mario 64 level he created for free..
