Garry's Mod - Game that console gamers should play

So. We can all agree that it´s impossible to play and have Garry's Mod on consoles?

I bet 99.9% console gamers never played Garry's Mod on PC.

Also there are most awesome multiplayer game modes that you can´t find somewhere else than here.

Trouble In Terrorist Town(MY FAVORITE)- In this gamemode, you are all terrorists, however hidden amoungst you are one or more traitors. Who can you trust? Kill the traitors before they kill you!

A small number of players is selected as Traitors, who have to kill all the Innocent players (ie. the rest of the players). Those innocents know they are in the majority, but they do not know who is Traitor and who is not.

The Traitors must use the element of surprise and their special equipment, if they are to succeed. The Innocent just have to survive, which means finding out who the Traitors are and killing them before they kill you. Of course everyone is holding a big gun, and everyone looks suspicious...For the Innocent, knowledge is power: who is acting strangely? Who can be linked to evidence found on corpses? Who is still alive, even?

PERP - In this gamemode, you take the role as a citizen in a large city. Do you become a fire fighter? A Medic? Cop? Salesman? The choice is yours! Generally considered the intermidiate Roleplay gamemode, as you need Levels and skill requirements before getting a certain thing.

Hunger Games - In this gamemode, you play as a Tribute in the Hunger Games! Play with your friends, or trust no one and kill everyone on sight!

Zombie Survival/Outbreak - In this gamemode, you play as a Survivor or a Zombie in order to Survive the oncoming Apocolypse! As a survivor, stock up on Guns and Ammo and try to help you and your fellow survivors live through the Night! As a zombie, you must ruthlessly kill every survivor you see as a Headcrab, a Ghoul, or any other Zombies available!

Zombie Escape - In this gamemode, you play as a survivor or zombie as you try to escape the area. As a Survivor, you have only your unlimited ammo carrying guns and your fellow Survivors with you to survive the oncoming Zombie Horde. As a Zombie, you must spread the Zombie Infestation by killing the Survivors before they escape!

And those are just very few game modes you can play.

You're in a forum where people fight over pieces of plastic, a "glorious social life" is the last thing people thinks when they see you with us here :)

If only Garry's mod had a $60 million dollar development budget.

But yeah, Garry's Mod is great. Same with games like Kerbal Space Program, and Space Engineers.

I think a lot of exclusive console gamers would enjoy these types of games if they tried them. Same with lots of other PC-centric genres.

I played a lot of Garry's Mod when it first came out as a mod. It's pretty much a dream game when you played Half Life 2 and wondered 'hmmm, what else can I do with the physics ?'

That's what sparked the idea for his mod and it's a true success story in gaming.

But for some reason I never played the retail release.

Not that great ? When this originally came out there was nothing like it :/

It's an amazing idea that turned into a huge success. It's pretty much an a silver lining in this industry filled with rehashes, broken games and incomplete games.

I'm not paying $10 for Garry's Mod

Garry's Mod requires time investment and creativity.

That's a few steps more complicated than "Push X for win/explosion/something-cool".

Then its not really a game now is it... Its a Toybox and I wish I could play it... :(

You can also create movies with it.

It's not fun to play to me and I have no desire to create content.

I always wanted to play it but never got a chance to do so . I'm going to try it soon on my PC . It sure looks fun .

I've messed around with a few times, but I don't have the creative power to do much with it. I'm suitably impressed with the resources available though (models etc)

I think most people are aware of what Gmod is, and it's far too old now to really captivate newcomers due to it's cesspool of a community and overly complex mechanics.

Spoken like a narrow minded fanboy. Many console gamers also game on PC. And Vice versa. Considering the GM install base, your "bet" is another loser.

Garry's Mod has been out for a decade and has amassed over 3,000,000 sales. TC is once again embarrassingly late to the party.

KSP is one of my all time Favorites.

I've got my eye on Space Engineers, but it seems like it still needs quite a bit of work.

Seeing that it's still based on the 2007 build of Source Engine, i'm actually curious if PS4 and Xbox One versions are possible given the hardware difference between current and next gen.

It's not fun when you are creating the content, especially if you are not a creation god.

i got it for about 2 quid and i loaded it up about 3 times, i seemed to noticed it wants the assets from tf2 hl2 and addons installed so it can use them, thats a lot of space for something thats fun for 10 mins :)

meh if any one comes up with something really awesome using it ill give it another go or get a load of drunk people playing it could be fun, but meh

Well if you have no time or fun creating the content, then play just in multiplayer game modes. There are roleplay, zombies, escape, hunger games, hunting, terrorist game modes. So much to play.
