I'm not a fanboy or a hater but damn the Vita has never made a case for me to own one.

And I usually buy all consoles and handhelds.

I used to have a Vita, and sold it. Have absolutely no interest in it.

Wasdie: Why you shouldn't buy a Vita in 2015 or ever.

Because it sucks. Very little to play, ridiculous proprietary memory cards (what is this 1995?), poor battery life, LCD screen replaced the beautiful OLED, costs too much ($200 for less capabilities than a $200 tablet), most of the best games on the Vita are on other platforms and probably play better there (why would I want to play such a fast paced game like Hotline Miami on the damn Vita?)

I own one. I use it maybe once every 6 months. The thing is a complete failure.

Yup. Pretty much how I feel. Especially the OLED being replaced.

I'd recommend the OLED if you can find one. Recommending one now with the inferior screen would really be a lie through the teeth. If you're jumping in now though there's tonnes to play. Import the 64GB card for half the price that amazon sells them for, flag those PS+ games.

Personally waiting for Aztez. Combat looks cray.

Only reason I see to own one is for collector's value. Solely because I can't see Sony making another handheld. Plus, I always wanted to get into Persona.

there's nothing inferior about it, some of us don't like the over-saturated colors and higher contrast of the OLED. LCD is fine. LCD is on 3ds, on smart phones, on TVs, etc. nothing wrong with it

From a friend who's a vita fanatic, it's worth it if you like importing and playing japanese games since it is a region free device. He also said that if you're a fan of playing PSP/PS1 downloaded games on the go there's a huge catalog for those, but he admitted that the physical library of English titles in the USA was pretty poor outside of a few standouts like P4G and Tearaway. Admitted you can play lots of the vita games on other platforms.

For my own opinion, I think the vita seems okay, but outside of those PSP downloadable games (if you count those) and a few physical games you can count on your fingers in total, it's just not strong enough in the games department (even though hardware wise its freaking awesome). Its the last system I would by from this current gen (My Order: Ps4 (own it), WiiU, (new?) 3DS-XL, X-box One, PsVita). If I knew Japanese it would totally change the matter there's some fun as hell looking games for vita that haven't been translated seemingly.

Sony to remove Maps, Youtube and Near from the Vita

Not a big deal for anyone with a smartphone, but it's not a good sign in terms of Sony's future intentions regarding the platform.

I bought the vita at launch, had some good times with it but the memory card prices are just too insane. Favorites games on it were P4G, Dragon's Crown, Muramasa and Ys: Memories of Celceta. The ability to play PS1 and PSP games are great but you have to get a large memory card for that.

I wouldn't recommend it to everyone though, only hardcore gamers that don't mind getting shafted by those memory cards.

PS+ definitely helped me enjoy the Vita more, but I'm not into handhelds.

If you put the two together side by side, the blacks on the OLED are black while they aren't on the LCD. The yellow haze is annoying too. If you enjoy it, more power to you. But I definitely wouldn't recommend the LCD.

I recommend getting a PSP. Vice City Stories is on sale for $2.49 in PSN.
